ParticipantTwo sightings in one day, including the thread’s namesake! Two arlingtonrider sightings in one week! What a beautiful morning!

guga31bb sighting (I think) yesterday going thru the Marriott parking lot and onto the Custis. Whoever it was came out a bit in front of me and I immediately thought, “I want to own that bike.” Then I thought I recalled having seen it on the postpicsofyourbike thread and made the connection. If it wasn’t you, then there are two of those beauties riding around. Anyways, I lost you at a light so couldn’t catch up to say hi, but maybe next time.
Yep that was me! I remember a person watching me as I was coming out of the parking lot onto Custis. I was doing a kind of awkward should-I-slow-down so it didn’t seem like I was trying to cut you off as I merged onto Custis, but then I think you slowed down, too.
Oh wait, I had my camera — here’s the moment preserved forever ~

Love the pic! Yea, I was doing the same thing. It looked to me like you were going to be faster than me, and I was somewhat tired, so I was trying to let you get out in front of me. Otherwise I would have had to work way too hard to not look slow and get blown by. Instead I got to have a painfully slow climb up the hill.

ParticipantI think I saw KayakCyndi on a fast bike, eastbound on Custis ~3:50pm around the Lee Hwy overpass.

Definitely wasn’t me. I only WISH I could ride my fast bike and ride it fast. No, I’m riding only slow bikes slowly for the next few weeks but at least I’m RIDING!

ParticipantAww, I thought maybe you’d made a fast recovery.

I elited this post because you’re awesome but don’t overdo it. Listen to your body.

ParticipantSaw Rod Smith, bikenurse and Greenbelt on the tail end of their metric today.

ParticipantNice to see you! We were spotted by Shawn Dread too, also doing the #kidical thing. BTW, if you wish to shorten the expression “metric century”, leave off the first word, not the second. Thank you.

ParticipantSpotted DBB piloting a Honda Accord (I think) onto 23rd from Virginia Ave as I was walking from the metro.

We’d better double check his Strava posting then.

It was an act of kindness. I hope I was well mannered.
OK I’ll say it
My name is Dana and I occasionally drive a car. Isn’t that the first step?
I can stop anytime.

Just noting the sighting, no judgment intended. I’ve even seen the thread’s namesake driving!

I didn’t see anyone today, but I did ride my bike, and I also drove. I can honestly say, though, since I was home with my kids today, the only reason I drove was to scope out the condition of the surface streets along my alternate, non-MUP commute route (the kids even went with me). Driving does have its uses…
