ParticipantTotally forgot that I had my first ROD SMITH sighting last Friday. Passed on the MVT between 14th St and Memorial bridges. I was coming too fast around a curve and he probably was writing a Missed Connections in his head. I managed to smile, saw the trailer in passing, and thought “…brain too slow. Oh look…something shiny!” And promptly forgot until now.
Hi Rod!

ParticipantI saw someone with a BikeArlington zipper pull smile at me and I thought it might be someone from the forum. If that was you, I didn’t notice you doing anything wrong. I think I tried to wave but yeah we passed pretty quick. I had gotten clear in Roslyn and thought I was done for the day so I took the long way to avoid all the traffic in the city. I did get one more job but I was close to the 14th St Bridge by then so not to far afield from the 15th Street pickup point.
I spotted Tim Kelly on a bicycle at N. Pierce and Wilson today. Although I’ve seen him in street clothes several times and once in racing kit, he was hard to recognize in urban biker guise. If he wasn’t smiling at me as if he knew me, I wouldn’t have known who he was.

A mention doesn’t count – you have to see him in the full glory of it, pleats and all. A bit like this:

It could have been Fraction Man himself. He stopped by my shop to gift me some handlebars and then was off to see you at Freshbikes. He was out enjoying the weather on his 2-wheeled Beamer!

I aimed for him, but he got out of the way at the last minute. Dude moves quickly… even with that trailer. We’re both gonna have to up our game if we’re gonna run him over.
I mean that in the nicest way.
Love,
Dirt.
