Yeah, that ended poorly… crawled into my home office 8.5 hours after I left. Significant time spent swooning somewhere out toward Ashburn. 99.1 miles. Didn’t have even that last .9 in me.
Also saw Hillman and Steve Eunpu (Mr. 13K miles so far this year on a hybrid)
A century before work!? Wow! The extra 9/10 is a gimme no one would quibble with.
Eunpu who rode pretty fast on that hybrid, and it was not one of those ‘flat bar road bike’ type hybrids, totaled the beast and walked away unscathed. Tough cookie. He’s got a cross bike now and is riding faster than ever.
I sighted 1/8 flying out of an alley onto G St NW this evening.

ParticipantAm I still the only person who has spotted 1/8th wearing a skirt? Just checking.

A mention doesn’t count – you have to see him in the full glory of it, pleats and all. A bit like this:

ParticipantBoth Steve O and Rod Smith got a coordinated shout out from a group of seemingly random strangers on the streets of Rosslyn this afternoon.

OneEighth might consider a libel suit against you for the apparent suggestion that he would have a basket on one of his sleek bikes.

ParticipantHad someone call out to me in downtown McLean yesterday early afternoon as Nelle and I rode through town on the tandem. I didn’t see who it was, but thanks!

ParticipantAlways nice to see a friendly face and if you’re with a large group, having them shout my name in unison is a plus.

ParticipantPassed dickie on the W&OD. Sure looked like he was coming back from work on a Saturday. He must have an awful boss!

ParticipantPassed Sir ConsularRider on FMR. This time I think I recognized him before he recognized me.
Stopped at REI on the way home after two flats (wee little piece of glass inside the tire). Spotted KayahCyndi coming out of the store. We talked Puggles. I bought some new tubes and some wool socks!

They were all adopted. We are currently fostering two beagle / hound pups. But dont have pictures yet. Available dogs through Lost Dog Rescue can be found here. There are ten adoption events each weekend and 40+ dogs get adopted each weekend. Each adoption event is 3 hours long so you have plenty of time to get to know the dogs. If you want the dog, you can take the dog home that day.
After the Puggles came Caleb, who was a Shepard mutt. This was one of my favorite fosters so far. He was filled with swagger and would go around the room hitting our old dogs right on the nose trying to get them to play.
My wife keeps tabs on all of her fosters through facebook
