Caught sight of Rod yesterday heading south on 7th near Independence. I gave a hearty HELLO ROD, and stuck my hand in the air. Not sure he recognized me but it was still awesome to see a friendly face.

I was pretty sure it was you. I didn’t hear your holler over the Traffic noise (The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys in my headphones :p) but I saw you wave.

Pretty sure Will passed me this morning at Oak/Custis. Once I realized it (thanks to the hair), I figured I’d just catch you at the light, but somehow we caught all of them green so I didn’t catch back up to you, and then you turned toward G-town and I went down to Roosevelt Island.

Quite possible! I don’t think I called my pass, sorry. I’m still in deep recovery mode from the weekend’s riding.

Rides longer than 30-40 miles since May’s collarbone break: 1 (the Frederick GF the weekend before, where I was feeling dead after 45 miles already.) Non-trainer miles ridden in June-August 2013 ~550mi. For 2012 that was around ~2600mi.

Originally I was just going to do the Medio but in the days before the ride came up with the plan to do the Medio but to include the first dirt climb. I didn’t realize that actually meant a 90 mile/10000ft ride. Thankfully MB did a great job pacing me back and keeping me company.

I think all my times on the ride were slower than last year, except maybe a few descents towards the end, and everything seemed harder than last year (physically and mentally – the climbs actually looked more daunting and seemed to go for longer than I remembered). I did eat more though! And I was happy to get through all the climbs without stopping or putting a foot down, and only hit the deck once (a clip in fail).

I think americancyclo should have a more interesting ride report!
