My wife decided to take a solo ride to Old Town on Saturday from Rosslyn via the MVT, apparently a very fit, thin gentleman with “longish” hair on a road bike called his pass in a lovely and polite Australian accent… vvill I’m thinking it was you!

BTW i got pulled over by the Police this morning, blew a red light on route 123 crossing Hunter Mill Road in Oakton- totally deserved it. Policeman was cool, said that if I’m going to ride on major roads in the pre-dawn darkness don’t run the red lights or I could get pancaked. He let me off with a warning.

Hint to the folks that want to score 1/8 sightings. Sit by a major intersection on the trail for 3 hours. During the count at the foot of the 14th Street Bridge, I saw Dickie, Mikey, Dirt, Rootchopper and Arlingtonrider. Likely more but I was upon occasion busy.

Great to see Dirt riding, albeit while on injured reserve and on his recumbent trike. Get well soon!

Let’s see, I scored Dirt, Dickie, KayakCyndi, someone I didn’t recognize in a BikeArlington jersey, shawnofthedread, and a couple of others I don’t remember. Everyone but Dickie was turning off the the W&OD to head east on the Custis. Dickie just kept sauntering west.

I waved to Dickie as he called his pass on the W&OD near oak street but I was in stealth mode so I don’t think he saw me .

Saw ArlingtonRider when I picked up a registration from her for the Back Roads Century. Then I had some nice saddle time with KelOnWheels for a good part of the day. Great spend time with forum members and Twitter peeps.
