ParticipantSorry, I’m just trying to drum up more bike ambassadors. I know, I know, I should just go ahead and volunteer, but …

Was that you waiting patiently on the corner? Meant to say thanks for scootching forward so I could get past the never-ending construction, but ended up too focused on the runner in front of me.
Yes, that was me, close to finishing up a morning ride.

ParticipantJust bumped into Mark Hersey of Commuter Connection, wearing a 2012 BTWD t-shirt, in a wine bar called Zillies.

ParticipantSaw Dirt while I was out on my wife’s cruiser yesterday, he was leading the Freshbikes ride while in Vienna. This was the inaugural ride for little Walt and I to cruise around on the Burley. Taking the little guy with me on Saturday (on the VO bike) to reach my 3,000mi goal for this year. Yeah, I kinda over shot that goal…

Yes, good to see you. A little surprised so far west!

It was my first W&OD adventure west of Falls Church in quite awhile. I went out to do a group ride but wasn’t feeling strong… the PowerTap doesn’t lie.

You need to do a FTP test so that Strava has numbers to give you Training Load and Intensity data!

Yeah, I do. Kept getting reminded of that yesterday… “How’s the power meter?” “uhhh *derp*”
I guess Hains Pt or a trainer would be the easiest venues right?
I am also considering getting some new shoes… probably MTB shoes.

Go do loops at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria, just off the MVT.
-3×1 min at just about all out, with 1 minute recovery in between.
-5 minute recovery.
-5 minutes at just about all out.
10 minute recovery. Eat a GU.
20 minutes at all out. Don’t start too hard, and try to pace it evenly. The last five minute should be as hard as you can possibly go. Your average power is your CP20 number.
Take 95% of your CP20 number to get your extrapolated CP60/FTP number.

You spotted the moustache and I recognized you by the handlebar bag. Who says accessories don’t matter?

ParticipantNice to meet birddog this morning on the Penn Ave tracks. Our meeting was almost marred by the erratic riding of a cyclist that nearly took him out with an unsignaled left turn

ParticipantI saw someone on I St SW this morning that I didn’t get a good look at but maybe recognized me. Or maybe he was just laughing at the mess my handlebars currently are with no bar tape and the rear brake housing just flapping in the breeze.
