ParticipantNasty car wreck had Beauregard blocked this morning. Vehicle had rolled at least once and was resting on the drivers side door. Lots of Emergency response. Kind of surreal to see it up close.

ParticipantThe nice thing about riding through 5 miles of torrential downpour is that you quickly become so wet you actually don’t feel wet anymore…

ParticipantSo I may be the weirdo that rides in at 0500, but I am a dry weirdo at least. I didn’t even realized it rained (sidebar, I really wish I worked above ground level).

ParticipantLet’s see, a light shower between 6 and 7 then a heavier downpour between 7:30 and 8:15. I was doomed.

ParticipantFunny weather affect this morning coming across the Key bridge. I was dry in VA, but as I looked out over the mist of the potomac, I was hit in the face with torrential rain. Maybe it was a few degrees warmer on the other side and that made it rain while it was dry in Rosslyn…

Yup. It sprinkled in Westover for about 30 seconds right before I left at 745, but stopped and looked like it was going clear up, so I headed out. About the time I hit Ballston it started pouring and didn’t let up until I hit the TR bridge.

ParticipantIt was pouring when I was going to leave Dunn Loring at 7:55. Checked the weather radar, then watched TV with my son for 10 minutes and rode in without any rain.

ParticipantI commute later in the AM than most, leaving my apartment at 8:30 (or sometimes a few minutes after that even), once I’ve spent some time with and done my share of caring for our one year old son. This morning I hit the road at 8:45. Dark clouds were all around, but apart from a brief sprinkle around Crystal City, it was a dry ride in. The sprinkle was just enough to help cool me down… like nature sweating for me. Psyched about the predicted cooler temps the rest of the week!

Participantlight sprinkles at 6:30 in mclean but otherwise just humid. For me warm + rain = more motor on tap, cold + rain = Truck.

You must have crossed Key Bridge after 8:00am. I arrived at work in Georgetown around 8:00 totally dry, while a co-worker walked in at 8:20 complaining about all the rain. Capricious to say the least.

Participant… required arm warmers and full finger gloves. Garmin says the average temp was 57.3.

I required neither, and enjoyed coming to work mostly dry.

ParticipantWhat happened to August, I am not ready for another round of freezing saddles, I was cold this morning. This is wrong, just so so wrong. Grumble. Grumble. But on the plus side the sunrise was beautiful.

ParticipantSpectacular. Sunny, low humidity, low people count and arm warmers?? As opposed to ejwillis62 this is my version of August in heaven!

ParticipantI’m not giving up on summer. Flip flops and a polo shirt! Although I did throw a jacket on the kiddo.
