…was, again, a drive.
I’m SO mad at myself. I only rode in once this week, at a time when my goal is to move to 3 days/week.
Today is so nice, too, I definitely could have rode today
I think it might rain. It’s quite cloudy out.

Where do you ride from/to? Maybe if someone is waiting for you at your starting point, it’ll motivate you… one of us should be able to do that to support you!
I appreciate it, but I’m pretty far away from everyone else
My commute starts in Bethesda and goes down (mostly) the Sligo Creek trail/parkway. I ride either the trail or the parkway depending how traffic conditions are and how strong I’m feeling. I end up at New Carrollton Metro station (20 miles) to take an express bus to Bowie, then a mere 3.5 mile ride from there to work. It wouldn’t all be so bad if it was just the 20. Hopping a bus and stuff really adds time.
When it comes right down to it, I just need to be happy with the number of days I do get in, and keep motivated to Just Do Itâ„¢.

Three bike days and a run day, but they all involved driving too. Perhaps I should be a less accommodating father?
Depending on how old your kids are, you could always throw them on your bike.

I use bungie cords, but you need a rack.

Don’t think I haven’t considered it, but as a 150lb high school freshman, he exceeds my rack’s carrying capacity. The better solution is to get him up to speed for riding in with me, but to be honest, I don’t think it would work. It isn’t that he couldn’t get up to speed and manage the 40 mile RT, but the lost homework time might just kill him. So I suffer as I watch all the bikes rolling by as I drive from DC back to Fairfax with my bike strapped on the back of the car.
Of course, I could just make him take metro…

ParticipantI drove in yesterday, then rode home, leaving my car at work over night (safely locked in a gated and guarded compound). This morning was actually a pretty nice ride in. It wasn’t overly hot and the sprinkles kept me guessing what exactly was finding it’s way in to my mouth (bugs or water, you decide). It was made even sweeter when the guard (always friendly) mentioned the beltway was a hot mess with traffic this morning. Traffic? What traffic? LOLOLOLOolollollllllll

ParticipantUgh! I haven’t ridden ALL WEEK and now I’m missing Coffee Club!
On the other hand, I stayed home from work Wednesday because I didn’t feel well, I fell asleep on the couch last night with no dinner after I crushed my short run (go me!), and because of YOU PEOPLE I’m running a half marathon on Sunday.
So maybe an extra rest day is ok. :p

I need to get over the facts that I don’t drink coffee and my toddler doesn’t like letting me out of the house early and get to coffee club. This morning was one of the nicest weather wise.

Blueberry Machine Smoothie from the next door shop. Mmmmmmm feel those purple fruit antioxidants!
Have you tried giving the coffee to the toddler??? Seems to work for teenagers.

I need a coffee club friendlier daughter. She just won’t get out of bed in the morning. In related news, I got another gray hair this week.

No rides for me either
To be fair, I was on leave Monday and Tuesday, and then I’ve been trying the whole running thing, which has left me pretty wiped out the past couple of mornings. So now I’ve got a century ride tomorrow and haven’t really ridden in like a week! hopefully running has kept my legs in somewhat okay condition….
