I have those same sandals (they’re great), but I haven’t used them for a few weeks. Just doesn’t seem right.

Days like today were made for sandals. It was the only part of my gear that worked flawlessly. The rain jacket heated me up so much, I was almost as wet from sweat as I would have been from the light rain.

Unless its a very short ride, I find rain gear pointless until the temperature gets into the 40s.

Were you wearing socks before the picture was taken?

Commute this morning – sandals (no socks), shorts and a tee shirt was just weird.

I have a vented waterproof-ish softshell that I can use to about 55 degrees. But above that, I just get wet and don’t worry about it.

All I can say is that it’s a good thing I rode the dedicated rain bike.

Isn’t the whole point of wearing sandals on a rainy day to keep from getting clammy socks and shoes on your feet? So, no, of course I wasn’t. Skin is watertight, so I just had to dry it off.

My morning commute made possible by: Bikeshare.
Unexpected smile: the group of jogging…firefighters maybe? who all barked out “good morning!’ in near unison as I passed by them on the Four Mile Run Trail this morning.

In red shirts, with someone in front carrying a flag? Back of the shirts read ACFD so yeah, firefighters or fire cadets I think. A cheery bunch.

Cadets. A new recruit school started a few weeks ago. :)

I will pass it on that their cheery hellos were appreciated!

Registered #2 on the Rosslyn counter this morning. Early, drizzly, and lots of folks not working, I guess.
