ParticipantLeft the backpack at home and stuffed my gear into a frame bag and a double sized seat bag. It didn’t even feel like riding to work! My average speed bumped up a couple MPH as well. Waiting on a serious seat pack for the next commute as my frame bag was stuffed to the max. So nice to get the load off my back!

ParticipantSomeone put three pylons/cones into the bike lane on NY Ave just east of 15th Street for no apparent reason. I unclipped and was able to kick the third one over and out of the bike lane while riding by. Hopefully someone else was able to knock the other two out of the way.

ParticipantI got backed up behind a bunch of cars SB on 7th and missed the light at I. Since the LPI at H is what allows me to get the rest of the way down 7th virtually car-free, and i was going to miss that if I waited for the light, I carefully jumped the red, waiting for pedestrians to clear the crosswalk.
My reward was the woman NB turning left in front of me onto D without yielding. She at least had the courtesy to wave apologetically.

Perhaps the District asked Falls Church for police reinforcements this morning?
Last night there were multiple buses on that block hanging over the bike lane. I don’t go there often, so I don’t know if that’s typical. I did not try to kick them out of the way…

ParticipantAfter multiple days of less than 6h of sleep, I’m tired when I’m stationery, but as I discovered this morning, totally fine on the bike. Lesson learned: never get off bike.

This morning there were only two cones. Maybe I inflicted a fatal kicking blow on one of them yesterday? Didn’t try to take out another today–maybe on Monday.

ParticipantI rode in to the church to play a funeral today, and all I can say is I’m glad I have to put on vestments when I get to work, because although I brought a change of clothes with me…I forgot pants. Yep. Went to a funeral without pants. (I’m classy that way. :p ) My thanks to Rockford, who drove over with a pair of pants for me so I didn’t have to stay vested all afternoon.

Yeah, you organists can just hide behind that big console anyway. Who’d ever know?

ParticipantAtleast you had one organ to hide the other one.
Hear about the streaker in church?
The preacher caught him by the organ.

ParticipantPlastic grocery bags taped around my shoes worked great to keep my feet/shoes dry. What I didn’t think about and anticipate is what would happen when I stepped onto the polished tile floor in the lobby of the building. Ouch!

ParticipantWell, good to be back commuting. 10 days off due to some travel. This morning I had jello legs, but it still beat sitting for 12 hours on a plane.
The commute was slow. But glorious.

Welcome back, Pietro de Forza!

ParticipantThank you kind sir. Not much forza this morning… more debolezza (weakness). But still better than the alternatives!
