Yeah, I’m certainly feeling it tonight after a loooong ride where I hardly drank anything while riding, just at my rest stops.
I had that with the HP100. I left early that morning and my bottles froze in the first 30 minutes of riding… even the one in my back pocket. If I don’t drink, I can’t eat much. I kind of dug myself into a hole in the first half of the ride. Once I got to Hains Point, Mark and Tim were AWESOME at helping at the food table. They made it much easier for me to drink and eat…. my hands were still a bit cold and not working perfectly. That was one of the rare rides where I actually was able to come back and finish out strong in spite of starting off poorly.

That guy just doesn’t want RCannon100 to make fun of him.

Don’t know which is worse. Riding your bike in 30F in shorts, or sitting in a car in G’town traffic taking a picture of people having fun on their bikes.

Even on the colder days, I’ll usually just default to my knickers for the commute – only a little longer than those shorts.

I think the forum doesn’t allow you to enter a post in all caps – some kind of spam/troll filter.

Yeah… I haven’t broken out the tights yet. Still using knickers. I do keep my knees warm though… as discussed in other threads.

Dang…today I wore tights over my bibs+knee warmers. Granted, it wasn’t as cold as was initially forecast, so it ended up being overkill, but I wasn’t hot by any means.

Yeah, the problem is that for my normal commute, straight from home to the office (door-to-door), I only eek out 3 miles. Not enough to get really cold.
Today I took a slightly longer route (7m) and had to deal with cold hands by the end, but legs were fine. I guess my shins/knees just dont get too cold. I may invest in a little jar of embrocation, soon.

The latter is worse. Me, looking longingly out the window.
I wish I was out there too.

ParticipantThere really needs to be a law against injured cyclists taking pictures while driving their coffins.

ParticipantOn the plus side, we should now be able to ride our bikes right on to the Metro trains…

Yeah, my legs get more windburnt than cold, really, although I ordered some PI AmFib tights (that should arrive tomorrow, yay!) since my kneewarmers won’t stay up

I’ve been tempted several times to buy a pair of the amfib bibs, but I can get by with just regular tights 99% of the time, so I haven’t pulled the trigger. They’d work so much better than tights over knee warmers though!
