It was cold and wet this morning. At least no drivers did anything crazy.

Nearly every available surface in my cube has something drying on it. At least the rain takes the edge off the kids. Much easier to ride with them when they aren’t flopping around.

Bringing up the rear of the late shift, I was number 141 at the Rosslyn Counter. Ouch. This morning was made better by the fact that I woke up to the sound of rain, grabbed my phone to see how bad it would be and saw tomorrow’s forecast. Knowing what’s coming, today wasn’t so bad.

I kinda forgot about keeping my feet dry, and paid for it. Luckily, I still have extra socks in my office.

I fail to see how tomorrow’s forecast is worse than today.

I’ll take “really cold and dry” over “cold and wet” any day.

Opposite for me. Prefer 45 degrees and rain to 28 degrees and windy. Maybe I shoulda been from Portland.

Had a nice, quiet ride in. Jacket performed well, but the rain pants failed and caused a breech of the shoes as well. Good thing I have a contraband fan under my desk.

    Florida Gov. Rick Scott disapproves.

I dunno what number I was on the Rosslyn counter (forgot to check), but I saw only one other cyclist on my journey this AM. I was a bit under-dressed (MTB shorts, t-shirt, jacket) but I managed to time it so I didn’t get wet – by driving half-way! :D

Wet and miserable commute… after almost four weeks of travel and eating too much.

New Castelli rain gear (yes, I am the yellow fluo guy) performed admirably, but a bit unsure of myself on leafy downhill bits… must get my “cycling legs” back again!

I am from Portland and this morning’s commute made me feel right at home. Tomorrow’s not so much, I expect.

In the words of Liz Lemon, “I want to go to there.” (Portland, that is.)

Maybe for you – see my Missed Connection post for a different perspective.

I saw a grand total of 11 cyclists this morning on my commute between Reston and Crystal City.
