Thanks for starting the new thread, apologies for [slightly] derailing this one!
Said without irony in page 295 of essentially a Seinfeld thread (i.e., about nothing)!
Also, I motion that we start calling inattentive jaywalkers “The Undead” or some other suitably derogatory reference to zombies.

So do Dirt and TwoWheelsDC, so you’re in very good company to offset the questionable company.

ParticipantI RODE MY BIKE AND IT WAS AWESOME!
But you know that already.
About the awesome part, anyway.
You might have not known that I rode my bike.
But I did.

Participantway too cold this morning! 60 degrees when I left. Wore a light cycling jacket and started sweating bullets later on. Damn this weather!

ParticipantAnother great commute. Got on the Custis right behind Mr. SpeedRacer, so he politely drafted me to the Rosslyn intersection. Weather hotter than the past few days, but the wind was not bad.
Took the longer commute in, have to up my mileage to keep up with all of you guys with your hyper-long commutes!

ParticipantI actually commuted today!
Who knew that you could use your bike for something other than just getting coffee?

ParticipantI realized this morning that, quite unintentionally, I had managed to take a different route in to work each day this week! Don’t think I’ve ever done that in my now many years of bike commuting.
This morning’s commute was one for “different” bikes sightings, too. Didn’t see many bikes on the way in between the clouds and the late hour of my commute, and of those that I did see, probably a third fell into the “other” category: two folders, three recumbents, a tandem, and even an Elliptigo, and I think I’m forgetting one or two. Fun to see so many non-standard-one-rider-diamond-frame bikes out on the road and the trail!

Nice. Now you just need to ride a different bike on a different route each day of the week!

ParticipantI beat 30 minutes! Despite not having commuted (or done any other ride of more than a mile or so) in weeks, I managed to get from the end of the Pentagon Bus Bays to the corner of NJ and M SE in just under 30 minutes!
I attribute this a bit to the fine weather, and a bit to being more warmed up by some rides to the local shopping center this weekend (my daughter who is packing to go back to school wanted a break so we rode together.) But mainly to the fact that when we got ready to set out on Saturday, the back wheel was almost flat, and this time instead of just pumping it, I went to the car to get the tire gauge, to attempt to pump it to recommended pressure. OMG I didn’t realize how under pressure I was riding even when I’d pumped the tire.
Note – The Wharf project looks like it will be the cyclist equivalent of the those highway megaprojects – new patterns on a regular basis.

I’m going to be doing this sort of. We are moving, and I volunteered to keep BOTH bikes at work for the next two weeks. Took the Kona in this morning, and tomorrow I will ride the old MTB.
