I got about 80% of the way to work this morning before I realized I forgot my laptop. Since pretty much my entire job occurs on that laptop, being at work without it is not terribly productive.
Good thing I bike to work and it’s gorgeous out, otherwise I might have been upset.
Admit it, you did it on purpose to enjoy the weather (nothing wrong with that, by the way)!

Actually this was supposed to be a light day so I could maybe get one extra ride to the kids’ camp this week.

ParticipantOut of curiosity, what is your weekly mileage? Commuting and otherwise?
Am curious – open question to others also.

ParticipantAnother awesome morning. After being a bit chilly yesterday, I put on a long sleeve over my ss when I left the house. Crazy. I was also meeting people at the Metro 29 Diner, which meant biking straight up, basically as soon as I left the house. That was a new feeling. I took Lorcom to get to the trail — that uphill is no joke, but overall, it was nice. I think I’d even recommend that route on days when the trail through that park is clear (i.e. not in the winter, and not on days after a storm).

This deserves its own thread.

+1
But in the meantime, I’ll play along here: 75 miles total commuting in a 5 day week. Tack on another 5-10 per week during grad school to get to and from class a couple times. Sadly, I don’t get much non-commute riding in, usually just a few miles with cyclingfool, jr. in tow in his Burley trailer. Longer rides like the 77 miles RT to Leesburg on my birthday or overnight trips on the C&O are “a couple times a year” occurrences at present.

It shows that you’re new here that you bother to apologize for derailing a thread.

ParticipantYeah, derailing threads is what we do here.
So how come no one on The Walking Dead rides a bike?

ParticipantKeep in mind that avg. weekly mileage is a seasonal thing around here. It tends to go up significantly between January 1 and March 20.

I’ve so totally thought about this many times, particularly in the dusky, twilight hours on the trail. Spoooky!

ParticipantIt’s perfectly safe even if the undead ride. It takes them forever to clip and unclip from their pedals.

This explains a lot about most of my shoalers. But why do so many of the undead ride Cervelos?
