I think I saw Drederick Tatum jogging on the MVT this morning!

    That’s ludicrous.

I tell my kids it’s because they get too much dessert, and they won’t anymore if they comment again. The threat’s usually good for one or two hills.

Mine cheer me on, and whoever is right behind me will often push my back to help push us uphill. I’ve resisted the urge to deliver a physics lesson because the support is so darn cute. But I’m going to steal your line if the occasion ever calls for it. :-)

Jrenault, how do you find the EdgeRunner? More stable than that loaner?

I’m very happy with it so far. Definitely more stable, though after my first long ride with the kids (about 13 miles yesterday) I woke up this morning with sore muscles (mostly around my shoulder blades), which I suspect is from keeping it upright.

The kids are slowly learning that if they don’t want Daddy to stop the bike and turn around and threaten to leave them on the curb, they’ll keep their weight centered.

I do not particularly appreciate the kids asking why I’m going so slowly up hills.

my daughter has taken to ringing the BikeArlington cowbell when she wants me to go faster. which is the entire climb up pimmit and idyl lane. http://app.strava.com/segments/7477766

I haven’t put bells on the back of the Xtracycle yet. Not sure I’m going to after that…

Nooo! You must put bells back there. You must! I’m surprised Kid2 hasn’t complained yet about not having a bell. When we had the toddler seat, each had their own bell. Now one Kid2 does without. :-(

Oh, and each bell must sound different!

My morning commute started with sticking the trailer in the back of the bike at 4:15 am, so I could use it to pick up coffee from Starbucks for all the elections judges I’ll be supervising from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. It’s going to be a LONG day!

Made it to work in record time! Its amazing what motivation and a lack of brakes can do for speed!

I rode out from DC on the Suitland Parkway bike path this morning. Traffic coming in was crawling or stopped for most of the ride, my photo below was after things started moving.

Gave me lots of opportunities to confirm and challenge my stereotypes of what types of cars various types of people drive. And to see who pays the least attention (Suburau drivers based on three data points)

Man, I’d give that award to Prius drivers by a landslide. Maybe all those subaru drivers are too busy watching their car fall apart around them. /bitter ex-subaru owner.

Back on the saddle after a brief hiatus for a work trip. I figured, I’m running early, I’ll go the longer way up the Calvert Street Climb. Now I remember why I preferred the Georgetown route.
