Wind pick up? I know I was a bit late, but I had a gust catch me at just the wrong moment when I was leaning into a turn and I almost went down.

However, I had a lovely commute aside from the wind. A woman rolled down her window to ask me where I got my Moose Mitts, someone was leaving the garage right as I arrived so I didn’t have to dig my badge out until I got inside, and the security guard thought the Moose Mitts were cool, too.

I’ve had the MPs at the Wright Gate of Ft Myer/Henderson Hall ask about my Bar Mitts the last two times I passed through. They were impressed and had never seen anything like them, but they were from a ways further south.

I don’t know why I waited so long to get them. My hands are so much more comfortable and they let me wear lighter gloves. It’s glorious.

Boo wind. Boo people in upper NW who seem to be the worst drivers with cyclists–worse than downtown or anywhere in NOVA. Bright side, it’s Friday!

No, that will anger the cycling gods and usher in a new ice age which will make you yearn for days like this.

It was a kudos-to-all-who-rode sort of morning. My thumbs are still reeling a bit.

Not raining/icing/sleeting/snowing is pretty much all it takes to make me happy these days.

I should add today’s ride and your post convinced me to splurge and buy some. I’m tired of trying to get my hands partially out of glove onto handwarmer part every 5 minutes.

I’m not going to lie. I’m a little upset that my Garmin shows the avg. temp of this morning’s ride which includes the time it took the device to go from a toasty 60 degrees inside to the 6 degrees it was reading during the ride. Is it too much to ask to get “credit” for an entire ride under 10? Silly, huh.

Stuck in the car again today, so I was already cranky, then heading up 15th St. I passed what you see below, and I went in to an absolute COMMUTERAGE.

What school district was that? Wonder if they were directed to park there by someone in authority?

Arlington does it. They are very happy with the bike lane on Wilson out in front of their building in Clarendon, where they can park their buses.
