Aero!
Yeah, I have no idea if those carbon seat stays have every been rated for cargo! I figure if I keep it under 15 or 20 pounds or so, it should be fine.

ParticipantI would worry more about the lack of spokes than the stays.

ParticipantI was going to drive. Then I realized this is my only opportunity to bike commute this week.
So I layered. And layered. And was 30 minutes late (RECESS!). It was AWESOME.

I savored today! I got to use my ski jacket and my liner gloves under my lobster gloves. And then a BA scarf to seal any cracks around my neck. The little one had her blanket wrapped around her, and today was the first day using her new buff!

ParticipantI just wore a heavier sweater and ski gloves. What are guys going to do when winter really arrives?

Come on, you know it rarely gets colder in this area than it was this morning!

If I need to take it to another level, I’ve got snow pants and boots.

ParticipantI have a winter coat, balaclava, wool socks, cycling gloves as liners, and polypropylene leggings still in reserve.

ParticipantIn my rush to avoid standing out in my cold shed, I forgot to put my helmet on this morning…wearing a skullcap + balaclava gave my head the same sensation as wearing a helmet, so I didn’t notice it until I was halfway to work. I did not die and the earth did not fly off its axis.

Just more proof that bikes are best kept just inside the front door!
Wool under WindStopper seems to the be recipe that keeps me warm.

ParticipantApart from the obvious fashion / style points, what are the benefits of knickers over full-length tights? Is it for when it’s too cold for shorts but not cold enough for pants?
Thanks
As for my layering today;
Top half: Under Amour compression long-sleeve mock coldgear + UA fitted long-sleeve mock coldgear + windbreaker + turlefur (this was the first time w/ both UA layers on)
Bottom half: tights, sweatpants, hiking socks, shoe cover
hands: glove liner, and my normal gloves (fingers were cold)Arrived a little sweaty, but not too bad. I was careful not to push it too hard up the hills.
