I’d also be interested in a lifetime calculator. I used VeloViewer to get my annual Eddington. It also gives other interesting annual stats.

This page seems to have Lifetime: https://swinny.net/Strava/-4691-My-Strava-Eddington-Number

Ummm… thats lifetime Eddington, not annual. Im at 43 right now. And thats in miles. Maybe in 2018 or 2019 I’ll get to 100 km.

48 is a very respectable annual number. I was at 38 last year.

What’s the best calculator to figure that?

Yes even from wear, but I think it has a limit on 2 full drive train replacements last I checked. I’ve used it on my old commuter and it’s worth the money since if you ride hard, you’ll use go through the cassette and chains over the warranty period if you have a standard set up. I also got it for my newer commuter bike with an IGH because if the IGH breaks it’s ridiculously expensive to replace so I figured the $150 or whatever I paid was worth the peace of mind.

It’s totally worth it on commuter bikes. It also covers any parts installed when the bike is purchased (fenders, racks and lights!), so when my back light broke that got covered too :)

Essentially covers everything that isn’t rubber. And covers parts/labor up to the cost of the bike you have it on. A $500 commuter, maybe only two drive trains. But a $5000 road bike would keep you covered for awhile!

I bought a three year warranty from Revolution Cycles that will replace the drivetrain for free, so the maintenance has been pretty lax on the new bikes.

+1 for the KPP warranty. I’m probably close to $10K in replacement parts and labor across six bikes!

Tim, I’d like to give my HR Department a heads-up on BTWD. When is it this year? I’m guessing probably May 19. Is that correct?

That is correct. For more information, the official Arlington website (and it’s suburbs in and around DC) is: http://www.biketoworkmetrodc.org

That should be updated with new info in the next month or so.

Maybe they can put in a tunnel at Lee Highway after they put in a tunnel under Lynn Street??

Yeah, tickets for sewing sold out about an hour after it hit the BikeArlington newsletter. We’ve got 10 people on the wait list right now.

But +1 for what Judd said–plenty of just hanging out time if you want to show up!

This has the proper cable so that you can record and charge at the same time. Comes highly recommended from years of personal experience.

I think you are confused on the definition of garbage miles. Every minute on the trainer is focused and has a purpose. Noodling around at 14mph for 7 hours is literally the definition of garbage miles.

Word is that Arlington trails have been brined in preparation for possible snow tonight! Arlington County Parks and Recreation is keeping a close eye on conditions and will respond with appropriate snow clearing efforts.

Just heard that these signs on the Custis near George Mason are out of order. If someone is going past there tonight–can you stop fix them?
