ParticipantThanks for being our captain Mitch! I also don’t know how to subscribe to a thread. I think in the past my teams have mostly communicated by email and/or in the strava group. It would be great to get together for a team ride. I live in North Bethesda and bike alot in Rock Creek Park. I’m co-sponsoring the tandem pointless prize and I help organize the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) tandem rides if anyone is interested!

ParticipantDavid–it would be great to ride with you! Serdar–I don’t know if the stream crossing is on the 40-mile route or just the longer ones, but maybe I’ll wear sandals to be prepared!

ParticipantThanks for participating in the Tandem pointless prize! Elizabeth I like Wheels did the most tandem rides and miles (46 rides, 520 miles). Phill Melton did 42 rides and 166.9 miles and Caroline Rohm did 38 rides and 155.2 miles. Jo and Ricky get extra credit for riding their tandem to the closing happy hour! If anyone wants to ride tandems with the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes, you can sign up and see the schedule at: gomwaba.org, or email mwaba dot inc at gmail.com. If you want to learn more about tandem biking with MWABA, check out our guest appearance on the All Bodies on Bikes podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/washington-dc-live-with-shira-gordon-and-tom-foley-s1e13/id1666353231?i=1000608592170

ParticipantHi Serdar–I registered for the 40 mile route, I haven’t done it before and I’ll probably be slow, hopefully see you there!

ParticipantMWABA (the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes) is organizing a tandem ride at Eastern Market on February 11th, probably around 10. The ride is open to all Freezing Saddles participants. If you’re interested in riding a tandem bike, we can probably pair you with a tandem and blind/visually impaired stoker. Or you can ride a single bike or your own tandem. We’ll probably ride 10-20 miles on the Anacostia Trail, with a possible food stop in Hyattsville or in Eastern Market after the ride. Message me or Greta Ann (NoVaNoobGA) if you have any questions. Email mwaba dot inc at gmail dot com if you want to ride one of our tandems!

ParticipantThanks Andy for being our team captain! I’m sorry I didn’t make it to the happy hour. My goal is to ride most days and participate in some group rides/events. I’m co-sponsoring the tandem pointless prize, and I’m on the board of the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) if anyone is interested in tandem biking or our other activities. I live in Maryland so meeting up in DC or Maryland would be most convenient for me, but I might be able to make it to Virginia.
