. . . Unfortunately, it’s out in Bowie, I live in Bethesda…. it’s just no longer feasible to commute by bike. I hope I can still view the commuters forum at least :(

Time to push for a cycle track on the east-west highway.

I like to practice on Pennsylvania Ave in front of the Whitehouse, once through the bollards, that is.

Great to hear! Come back soon, we have about a million other ideas for great “secret” places to ride in DC, you know for when all of your neighbors and friends back home come to bike here and it gets too crowded.

you know, thinking back at it I don’t remember seeing or not seeing the barriers this morning, I was just in my time to make 2 rediculously close right angles over the next 10 feet mode.

Whew I don’t understand how people can commute in this heat with a big backpack. I guess folks have road bikes with no rack fittings, or they just don’t know about racks and bungie cords.

They were doing a fridge cleanout at work today, didn’t have time to wash my dishes at work so in the morning I put the 2 things I had in the fridge into the freezer, then on the way home I put the frozen glass wear (I think it was soup) into my backpack. Nice cool pack.

The sun started getting to me by West Falls Church – but I was pretty close to home. Stopped twice to refill my water bottle with tepid fountain water. UPSIDE – NPS put out a sprinkler by the Lincoln Memorial – nice.

I know! I met up with a friend after work to ride to the bus and luckily chose the Lincoln because it was easy to get to. I spent an extra 10 minutes riding through the sprinkler, cooled me down by at least 20F. Thanks NPS

The second picture is of my oldest son Dougie, returning his red with flames bike gloves to the handlebar pouch. Great fun.

Good thing the MVT always has a head wind no matter which way I’m riding. Bring on the breeze.

Will anyone visit me in the hospital over the weekend?

Heat + breeze = convection oven. You can now cook in half the time!

I’m more worried about the line of tourists dancing with their legs crossed and waiting in 95F heat to pee. They will probably not respond well to “ding-ding”.

How about laying down a little more asphalt, kind of like a merge lane, and then put some stripes there and a sign saying keep right if joinint the trail?

    +1 (actually +5)

great time had by all. It was nice to see the spouses, you know the people who put up with our stinky post-ride selves.

My son won the bell, and was so excited he rang it all the way home!

The Killer Bees are fully platinum, 10 riders all above 1500 points. Go team! Although, the platinum drawing is only at the end and I think most of us will above 1500 pts by then, but still great going guys/girls!
