Well, hell. When I didn’t know when this was, that was a very good excuse for not trying to do it.

Yeah! I started wondering if folks were hinting at Kill Bill 2016, but I couldn’t find anything on it. I should’ve known it was on Facebook (the best place to hide things in plain sight from me).

Unfortunately, by the time I saw the post it was 11pm last night, and I’m not confident (foolish?) enough to join up on a whim with no prep.

Since those doing it are presently rolling, I’ll be thinking of you as I try out this new route. Godspeed!

After trying to decipheryour code words and image-speak, I’m at an impasse:

Yeeep that was me! (You can’t see it, but my made my helmet into a duck for the rainy parade that was cancelled)

My top song picks for on-stage kareoke were already taken, so I had go deeper into my bench, but it was still a blast!

Overall its a darn shame out the weather. I could only stay until about 2-ish, but the crowds were a fraction of past years. Did see a bunch of BikeArlington regulars tough!

Although I don’t have any photos, the Rosslyn stop was jumping as usual! District Taco was there with free breakfast tacos in addition to my usual once a year bagel!

The big deal was this was my first BTWD after joining up with you guys; I ran into so many people I knew. Including, but not limited to, POWERFUL PETE! Apparently he was in town for just three days (on his way to Asia) and one of them happened to be last Friday.

The other big thing was it was my husband’s first BTWD. (He took all the pictures) It was his first time being in one place with so many bikes/cyclists before, but we got him signed up for WABA and set up with swag, so he had a good time.

I then rode with him to G-town (across from his work) where there were mini-cupcake, scones, and cookies. From there I made an appearance at Nat Geo and 19th & L (across from my work) but it was getting late so there wasn’t much going on.

By the time I got into the office I was buzzing from coffee and refined carbs! 😎 Gotta love it.

Oh NO! That’s too too sad… I was hoping to get to ride with him one last time before he took off. (T-T)

    But okay, Boomer stories!
Last year he was a ride marshal for 50 States and I glommed on to his group–opting this year to stick with a group for the duration in hopes of not getting lost. It was largely good times… except for the fact that Boomer (and a few of his fellow marshals) played it fast and loose with the “Don’t run red lights” rule. They’d charge through late yellows (or even “pinks”) leaving their slower charges behind at the light. These quickly became known as “DAMNIT BOOMER!!!” moments. These were numerous over the course of the wild and rainy ride, but we all survived… somehow. :p

I’m going to try to tear myself away from the party at the Rosslyn stop with enough time to also hit the Farragut and Neo Geo stops this year (Gtown and 19th&L are on the way so those will definitely be hit up )

Fantastic all around! All of these are worth celebrating! We should be sure to gather at the 3rd Thursday HH and raise a pint.

For me, May 1st I celebrated my first year with my current bike, which took me on my first centuries (both metric and ‘merican); first rides to Purcellville and Harpers Ferry; 2,300 miles during National Bike Challenge; and my first attempt at Freezing Saddles. When I took her in for annual spring maintenance, it was discovered that I completely wore-out my drive train and had to replace my cassette, chain rings, and chain. Its been a good year for riding to be sure, but most importantly, I met all of you guys! 😮

Yay! I’m looking forward to it! Thank you so much for getting the wheel rolling on this again.

I’m a tentative RSVP for now as I’ll need to leave on a very early flight the next day, but I’m going to do my darnedest to be there.

It really is something isn’t it? There’s nothing like this back home, so I feel blessed for the forward-thinking folks who made this such a great place to live and ride, long before I showed up. I’ve decided to say thanks by trying to make it better… 😎

Interestingly enough “Hello Bicycle” was the name of a bike shop in Singapore that I considered renting from while I was there. They seem to specialize in the “cute.”

Oh fun! Thanks for the announcement! I work a few blocks from there. I’ll try to remember to leave early enough to swing by.

Checking it this morning, it looks like all of my rides from the past week have uploaded (good) though there still seems to be a lot of issues on totaling things and the leader boards.

That said, biggest concern: WHAT HAPPENED TO GAINESVILLE?! 😮

I don’t see them anywhere on the system. I can’t fathom a group as big and consistent in is participation just suddenly disbanding…

Sounds good to me! I don’t want to be double counted. I’d rather add miles organically than subtracting them manually

Now that I’m on Strava from BAFS, I thought I’d use it to sync my miles to the NBC site instead of doing it manually as I did in the past.

However, despite the Strava sync showing all of my rides for the year prior to today, its not showing today’s rides. Is there an extra step I need to take? Or will it auto-update at midnight or something?
