ParticipantUgh. Giant & late BBQ lunch almost as bad as salad for ride home. Sloooooow.
Arlingtonrider spotted me in Shirlington though! She is either back from KC or has a good telescope.

Never understood the point of fenders. You are going to get wet. Just give into the dark side and enjoy it!
I don’t mind the wet really, it would just be nice to deflect the mud.

But, most of all, I like riding in the rain in the morning just as much as I like it in the afternoon.

ParticipantYou too!
Your new jersey is super cool.

ParticipantYep, the bike shall get a good cleaning this weekend! And I’m going to install those fenders

ParticipantMan, what a great day!
Didn’t see anybody out on the trail this morning except for a few runners (well, except for the one guy on a road bike who came up behind me at the 14th St Bridge approach – I apologize for my completely lame left turn signaling that was probably so lame that you couldn’t even see it and promise to be a better signaller in future. You did not yell at me or slam on your brakes so I think you guessed where I was headed.) Brain and legs were a bit sleepy.
My waterproof bag is waterproof!
My fenders probably are too but since I haven’t installed them yet they didn’t really do much good. I’m sure the table they are sitting on at home is nice and dry. I got mud in my teeth. My brake pads appear to be water soluble and solubed all over my rims.
Friday Coffee Club was full of folks! Dirt appeared with tales of far off lands and a kick-ass new jersey. Somebody whose name I should remember had a new Surly Disc Trucker. It was purty.
Started POURING just as I was getting ready to leave so I got to test out my rain jacket that’s been waiting patiently in my bag all summer. It appears to repel rain as advertised on the tin. The rain was handy, it washed all the mud off. Free shower!KelOnWheels

GENIUS!P.S. I don’t know how that helps with my hand injury but I like it ANYWAY!
Easy. By the time the wife & kids are done building your velodrome, your hand will be all better.
