Probably should’ve been doing this all along :p
Indeed :p
Well, maybe if I’d actually followed the detour instead of trying to be all badass, I wouldn’t have landed on my head :p

ParticipantGorgeous morning!
Had my first crash – tried to cut around a construction sign over by the Jefferson / Tidal Basin and hit the edge of the sidewalk wrong coming out of the grass.
Landed on the drivetrain side
Bike seems to be OK after I put the chain back on but I think my front derailleur could use some seeing to.
Cracked my helmet, scratched my sunglasses, gave myself a black eye/cheekbone, scraped my chin, tore my jersey (KNEW I should have bought that one yesterday!) & scraped my shoulder, bashed my elbow, and scraped my legs up a bit. My blinky helmet light came apart into pieces, one of which ended up in the middle of Ohio Drive, but fortunately did not get run over. Still works.
Thank you to everyone who stopped to ask if I was OK!
At work with ice on various bits of me now. Monitoring condition of head.

Yes you do. I don’t own any TwinSix gear, but love their attitude.
Their Humpday sales are tempty and dangerous.

Tim, I believe the words you were looking for are “Hand Sewn,” rather than “Home made.”
Bravo, Elizabeth! A lovely dress regardless of its technical features.

I once threw my back out sitting in church. I couldn’t stand up straight for two weeks.
That’s why I’m an agnostic.

But did you get to the phone??
LOL, I don’t think I did. I was too busy lying in the laundry basket contemplating if I’d actually broken my ankle or just sprained it. Now that I think of it, I think that was during my first and so far only attempt at training for a triathlon. Derailed by laundry injury!

I was taking a shower one day and pulled a back muscle.
I threw my back out feeding the dog one morning.
Then there was the time I jumped out of bed to answer the phone, discovered my leg was asleep, subsequently discovered that your leg can bend in all sorts of directions it shouldn’t when it’s asleep, and fell over into the laundry basket. Then I crawled to the freezer, got an ice pack, called into work, and spent the rest of the day in bed.
