ParticipantApropos of tires, how does one tell what range of tire widths one can run on a particular rim?
KelOnWheels
ParticipantSo I’m thinking of turning the MTB into a snow bike, as I haven’t touched the poor thing since getting the Space Horse.
Schwalbe Marathon Winters or Nokian Hakreiwrewjihewihrisadjksppslslslslslslssttts?
KelOnWheels
ParticipantI hope Santa is bringing me a Garmin 510. Or maybe a GoPro.
I asked for merino everything and more lights too
The Sparkle Pony is getting a set of gravel wheels from me
(and a Selle Anatomica Titanico saddle that just arrived, although it may turn out to be too narrow.)and it’s about time to start thinking about N+1! (although probably not gonna happen in 2014. THANKS ECONOMY.

ParticipantI would like to nominate:
eminva – instructor, inspiration, Scout herder and cycling adventurer!
MegaBeth – HP100 instigator, a Woman with a Bicycle!
ArlingtonRider – the queen of Hains Point and always-gracious happy hour hostess! (I don’t believe her about not being gracious one time. I see her at work. In work clothes. She is ALWAYS nice. Then she goes and volunteers for ALL THE THINGS.)
acc – for bringing fabulous glamour and an awesome sense of fun and participation to so many events!
dasgeh – family biking role model extraordinaire!
dbb – our link to the NPS!
Tim Kelley – He is very tall, and also does things like make the forum go which seems like a lot of work!
Mr. Blacknell – WABA! Also he remembers everyone’s name and says hello on rides and always has extremely good hair even post-helmet.
rcannon100 – He freezes our saddles and supports many good things like Phoenix Bikes and dogs!Who am I forgetting? I know I am forgetting people. I will add them when I remember! I kinda want to nominate all of you, because you deserve it.

While it certainly beats out TM’s bikini skin suit, Freezing Saddles 2014 doesn’t start until January 1 and this suit must be retired by Three Kings Day. Besides, where’s the white beard, and would anyone really want to see a portly gentleman in skin tight lycra?
Bah humbug, Orthodox Christmas isn’t until Jan 7 so you can rock this until at least the 19th

ParticipantThere should be a bonus for riding in this: http://dangerousminds.net/comments/horrifying_full_body_spandex_santa_claus_suit

I am considering veering off for Wegmans around mile 45 for lunch. Anyone have a better option?
Yeah, I thought there was going to be a list? Or do we get that tomorrow?

The Honeycrisp (60 mile) route is going to be a little confusing if you haven’t ridden in the area and you better be comfortable riding on city and suburban streets. It first goes south over the 11th Street Bridge path. There no image on google maps which shows the bike route over the MLK Bridge, and I’ve never driven over the new setup and have no idea what is actually there now. There is then a good climb up Good Hope Rd SE (260 feet in 1.3 miles). After that there are lots of rollers, some worse than others. When you get back to DC after a loop around FedEx field, you have a climb up Southern Ave SE.
I’m signed up for Honeycrisp. Not loving that elevation profile.

If you are going to start a company that makes clothes exclusively for women, why would you give it an androgynous name?

I think we need to defer to KelOnWheels as the self-decaled arbitor of stickers on that.
I must defer to the Velominati and arbitrarily declare these to be decals, which are indeed extremely pro.

ParticipantWe’re tapering. It’s very pro.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
