At first I thought they were skeletons! I guess they’re little sculptures made of tiny pieces of interlocking wood? Good eye!

BooksI think this is your first appearance here, Coppertop! Thanks for playing! I think this is in Arlington?

ParticipantSO excited this is back! Thank you Boomer!
Unfortunately, most of the public art I’m seeing is in El Paso Texas so publishing location might not help people much in finding it! Seeing as I’m failing miserably at taking scavenger hunt photos in an artful enough way to impress the judges, the sheer joy of having something else to look for cannot be overstated!
I start tomorrow! 10 miles + bike in photo. We can DO this! (And here’s a sample)

One hopes they see the boulder before the stop sign…

ParticipantA couple of housekeeping tips:
1 Photo per day. It’s tempting to include more when a LFL is really cute, but choose the best ONE please.
Post it on the day it was taken. Photos that come in after midnight for the prior day will receive no extra points – they make it very difficult for the tallying (everything on the forum has to be done by hand). You’ll still get the participation point from Strava, but not here.
IF you have tech difficulties that prevent you posting, send me a quick message and I’ll extend grace.

An empty LFL, closed because patrons wouldn’t follow social distancing rules. The library will be restocked when it is safe to do so.
E. Timber Branch Parkway
Alexandria, VirginiaThat seems a little harsh – I mean, how many people were congregating around there at one time? Very sad but thanks for posting it.

It is difficult to find deciduous trees in the desert. But I persevered and found these desiccated autumn leaves along one road.

Speaking over over-thinking things. If you’re the kind of person who likes to do that, I just want to point out that the calendar we created not only has calendar tabs showing the top picks each day, but a tab with the thoughts of the judges as to why they chose that photo.
And let me say fret not if you don’t see your name here (yet)! Remember there are two contests built into this one pointless endeavor. Those daily participation entries, and this – as Rumi puts it – “beauty” contest.
I don’t see any tabs, but I’m resigned to not being artistic enough to be featured. I’m okay with that. Sort of.

ParticipantAww… Boomer! I got all excited thinking you were doing Public Art Finder again! There are a lot of public art pieces here in west Texas that I keep taking photos of … but like the girl with braces and glasses on prom night – all dressed up and no place to go. (Ouch, might be a personal memory there!)
Hope to see you in the spring! I’m here for a while. Great riding weather, mom holding her own but not thriving. Stinks.

Inspired by fellow FSers, I organized this LFL located at 1001 Twinbrook Pkway in Rockville. It had Thomas the Train DVDs but could use more children’s books.

I deposited the comic book I borrowed from another LFL.I have discovered, after much trial and error, that if I hold my phone horizontally, it takes the photo in an orientation that loads properly to this forum. I have an iPhone 7, so your mileage may differ. Just offering it in case it bothers you. Thanks for playing along!

The difficulty was in selecting which of the many thorns to choose from, including goathead thorns from my tires. But for wicked beauty, I chose this one.

Cool – I thought you’d found a cosmic new bike accessory that I would need to find for my Surly! Bungees, I have.
