** Wrapping Up FS2021 #PublicArtFinder **
I will tally up the final results, add in the bonus points, and think about a suitable award(s), so look forward to another posting after the #BAFS2021 season closes. But in the interim, smile and enjoy the ride:-)
Sent from Boomer_Cycles via my iPhone using TapatalkAnd the 2021 #publicartfinder winners, honorable mentions and prizes are (drum roll, please) ….
… to be announced at the BAFS2022 Team Assignment Zoom call on Thursday night, Jan 13th, so be sure to log on!:-0
In the interim, I will share that the winner was determined by bonus points even though they did not come out on top of the #PublicArtFinder leaderboard! A risky but effective winning strategy indeed.
There was actually a tie for a strongly contested 2nd place after bonus points were awarded, so the tie breaker went to the lowest mileage Art aficionado on 2 wheels (whom had the higher efficacy of art finds) with only a 1.1 point difference between the dynamic duo.
More insights and some rule changes and relaunch of this popular pointless prize for FS2022 to be shared at the Team Assignment Zoom call, so did I say “be sure to log on?”

ParticipantAww… Boomer! I got all excited thinking you were doing Public Art Finder again! There are a lot of public art pieces here in west Texas that I keep taking photos of … but like the girl with braces and glasses on prom night – all dressed up and no place to go. (Ouch, might be a personal memory there!)
Hope to see you in the spring! I’m here for a while. Great riding weather, mom holding her own but not thriving. Stinks.

I am, belatedly, so stay tuned for future announcement!
I finally got around to building the spreadsheet to figure out the 2021 bonus points and tie-breakers, so I might as well sponsor this pointless prize again for 2022 now that I can track it;-)
Good to see you enjoying freezing saddles in Texas. Winter is getting brutal here. Sorry to hear that Mom isn’t doing well. Sending good vibes from afar. Give her a hug from me!

ParticipantAnd the long awaited results of the BAFS2021 #PublicArtFinder pointless prizes announced at last night’s BAFS2022 kick off Zoom event are as follows:

The winner was ultimately determined by bonus points, which enabled @Serdar to put a gap between himself and the other publicartfinders by his relentless pursuit of painted traffic switch boxes! The other 2 podium steps were wheel-to-wheel between the dynamic duo of @KbikesVA and @camiller who both reside in the target-rich vicinity of Reston VA and determined by the efficacy tie-breaker: the most art finds in the least amount of miles …. which went to @KbikesVA by a mere 1.1 point differential.
There were also a couple of other tight groupings where the competition heated up on the leaderboard and those publicartfinders merit a shout out:
@Robin Butler-LeFrancois, who had a prolific output in the final days to leap to the top of the leaderboard by mining the mural-rich area of DC (pro hint: go ride your bike along the U street corridor and Shaw hoods!).
@consularrider, who is a professional coffeeneur and is often on the top of every leaderboard on which he sets his intention (but is sometimes prone to liberal interpretations and therefore requires monitoring:-)
Robin and Consulurrider were also wheel-to-wheel and separated by a mere point. The third grouping was between @LauraR and @BikeDavid, who were also separated by a mere point. @BikeDavid had the best efficacy score among all publicartfinders by taking advantage of several target-rich hoods across DC.
Lastly, and by no means least, a shout out is due to @FastFriendlyGuy (David Pomeroy) for his gifts of original artwork that he created while riding his bike to various spots around the DC area that inspired his watercolor pieces that will be given as prizes to the top three publicartfinders for 2021. I will follow up directly to ensure delivery of these truly unique prizes.
