So, I’m looking a bike with through axles. I’ve got your standard fork mount roof rack. How do I/ can I use this rack with through axles? Is there a fork mount bike rack made for through axles?

Yep, and I just had Bikenetic order some since all of us have new El Mar’s with through Axles. Hopefully they’ll be in before the weekend. Jan says the Rocky Mount ones are way better than the other brands so I think that is what they are getting.

My in-laws live in Richmond and I was counting on them for a place to stay…until this week when my father-in-law took a job in Raleigh. Not cool.

I may have two extra hotel rooms in Richmond booked for Friday Sept 25 and Sat Sept 26. Being the over-planner than I am I booked two different sets of rooms in two different hotels back in October. It looks like we’ll only be needing one set but just to be on the safe side I haven’t canceled anything …. Perhaps I’ll raffle them off to the highest bidder!

So, it’s not really stalking others on Strava, more keeping an eye on their riding and, quite frankly, being inspired to ride more because of what I see in terms of their achievements.

Oh, I’m totally stalking people on Strava. Kurt (Vicegrip) and Glenn I’m watching you!

p.s. It is not helping that they both seem to enjoy night rides ….

Ok, I’m sure this will get stolen immediately but it is such a pretty picture.

I know I’ve been laying low lately, but that doesn’t mean my problems are all that bad. Of course I miss riding, but it’s just a matter of time and healing.
Best wishes to all for some impressive winter riding!
    Your riding pal,
    Dave

Miss our morning greetings Dave! Heal up in time for spring.

I stupidly didn’t bring my raingear this morning, so I’m hoping for snow, though I don’t know what difference that would really make…if it’s snow it will be wet and gloppy (a real meteorological term!)

Use that as an excuse to leave at 3pm. That is my plan.

While, this ride is free…. To participate, I think you’d have to join the DC Randonneurs club, which is $10 for the year. Once you’ve joined you can do all of the other club rides, like 200, 300, 400, and 600K rides for very nominal fees.

It’s a small price to pay.

Creadinger, think you can manage to squeeze in a 600K before March 20th??
