He sure can! Though I’d like to point out that the brakes are not terribly effective so he will have some exciting downhills for sure.

First off, Shawn’s comment had me spitting my coffee all over my computer as I burst out laughing in the office. Second, DCV doesn’t need no stinkin’ brakes!

I hope those bicycle icicles will cool things down a little. Either that or ice cold Status or Kruto vodka.

Shots of vodka may be an appropriate drink for this evening …. See you all shortly!

Pre-booked tours are totally sold out. That said I’m still heading down to see her on Friday. Departure is late, late Friday pm. I heard going back under the WW bridge around mid-night Fri/Sat.

Not sure how I missed this post when it was originally posted but I’m sticking with my very DC appropriate statement … No Comment!

Yeah, I dont care about the roll on service. I know they dont offer it where I am going. I am asking about the baggage service.

Sadly, the last time I looked the vast majority of, if not all, the trains into New York Penn Station were no checked baggage allowed therefore precluding taking bikes. If there was baggage service my understanding is that the boxes Amtrak provides are so big that you can basically roll your bike into it.

Rolling by the Jefferson at 455.
Staying til around 530 then rolling south on the MVT and west on the WOD

To early for me unfortunately. I’ll probably just be getting there at 5:30 or so.

We’ll see. I changed the hubs to black after seeing my flashy road wheels which have a black hub a red nips and look bling. Plus kayakcyndi is rockin’ orange nips on her otherwise black wheels and they look bling too.

The orange on the Furley is pretty bling. Even when I’m riding it I notice the orange spin and it makes me smile.

You could just use all black with two red nips for accents around the valve stem. I saw some wheels built up this way and there a nice blend of understatement and bling.

I liked the post and will be there for happy hour but I definitely dislike the reason for our gathering! Consularrider, as one of my usual partners in crime, should NOT be allowed to leave!

I drive a car on Annandale and I think it’s bad. I’ve only biked on the section between Graham and Route 50 and when I do, I’m amazed that Dread does that daily. Tons of potholes and uneven pavement.

I live right off of Annandale and it isn’t the cars that bother me. It is all the potholes, road debris, gravel and grim. Then throw in a good dose of construction projects/traffic.. The northern section between route 50 and Washington is affectionately referred to as our “mixed surface” route.

This morning we met at the new Cafe Kindred on Lee Blvd just west of the WOD. The food was awesome, the coffee strong and tasty… all in all it’s a wonderful place in a good location. I returned later with my wife after my appointment and got chatting to the owner(s) (she works the counter and her husband is the chef)… they loved that we showed up this morning and will make sure staff is on hand for future Tuesday mornings. I say we make this a permanent stop on the weekly coffee tours…. I know I’ll be back, that ham and cheese croissant is still making my mount water!

Totally plan on making this a weekly occurrence preceded by the 6am hill circuit. After all doing that makes having these less problematic.

Yes Shawn it would be because you are supposed to be at MMPC!
