ParticipantThere is also a CaBi station on the trail just south of the brewery if you’re feeling lucky

ParticipantFROM VA: lowest stress would be 14th St Bridge to 15th St cycletrack north. Take a right on Q. Q has two funny bits that are hard if you aren’t familiar. First is at 11th. You want to cross 11th and take the little slip lane, left on Rhode Island, then right on Q again
Then Q dead ends into Florida. I generally take the south sidewalk on Florida and cross North Cap at the light. Q continues just north of the Florida/North Cap intersection (so you need to cross Florida AND North Cap).
Continue on Q a few blocks until it dead ends. Ride up onto the little plaza and take a left on the MBT trail. Just past the RIA Metro, City State is on your left. You’ll see signs as well as the bike rack on the left side of the trail. Take the stairs up and go right.
The bike rack is likely to be full very quickly, there’s more parking upstairs. I suspect there will be a mass of bikes locked together as there’s no way the bike parking will accommodate all attendees.

ParticipantI will confirm attendance closer to the date but if anyone is looking for bike directions, I’m happy to help. It’s very bike-accessible but you need to know a couple of things to avoid, like Franklin St

Actually, this was the 10th one. Next year will be the 10th anniversary one!
Isn’t this the 10th Freezing Saddles, making it the 9th FSLNHPP?

ParticipantGood ride, all! I had hoped to possibly catch Team 7 for 2nd place but it was not to be.
Next year will be the 10th FSLNHPP. We should do something cool, like ride our bikes in circles really late at night in the cold.

ParticipantMight just be me and you, buddy. BAFS has gotten soft

ParticipantI’m pretty sure that was the first year. I started in 2014 after not playing previously but going to the final happy hour and thinking it was awesome.
I have, from time to time, wondered if maybe that wasn’t my smartest decision.

Sounds like a plan. Hoping wind is nothing like today 3/14–it was brutal
Remember, when it’s super windy on Hains Point, you get the tailwind one way so it evens out

ParticipantI’ll be coming back from my daughter’s soccer tournament in Richmond this Sunday but hope to make it out

ParticipantA reminder that today is the Pete Beers-th Day of Freezing Saddles (best number EVAR) so if you are inclined to do something ill-advised (but fun) on a bike, this is a good day to do it in his memory.

ParticipantArlington County is lying to you because they don’t want to upset the drivers living on or commuting through those streets. That said, flex posts are dumb and unless you fill, say, a quarter with rebar and concrete so drivers never know if hitting one will damage their car, they’re just really bad street decorations.

ParticipantAs the owner of a condo management company in DC, I would say you’re going to have trouble. The larger brand new buildings (built within 5 years, maybe less) probably have decent bike parking, but I would bet almost nothing in Logan or Dupont will. Your choices will be 1) storing them in your unit or 2) the bikes get stolen.

ParticipantIt was too wet for me to feel like stopping to get a picture of it, but one of the ELFs was locked to a rack on 15th NW just south of L (or thereabouts) about an hour ago. Weird that this ancient thread popped up so recently and then I saw one of the offending contraptions in person.
