ParticipantI’ve been going to Mike at The Bicycle Place on Brookeville Rd. for the past several months. Minor things like wheel truing and a new star fangled nut, but they’ve been good so far. Proteus in College Park is good and they post a bunch in this Forum.

Just remember that studded tires aren’t going to make any difference in eight inches of wet, sloppy snow.
Combine them with one of these.

But Bilsko has assured us that this ride can be done in one day. Is Bilsko just crazy?

I think I just figured out that you (jopamora) are Peter K! Am I right? Your avatar should have been the tip off, but I mean how many people have pictures of this whatever it is? If it IS you Pete, let me know and it was great riding with you Vin, and Greg that fun Sunday!
DaveYou are right.

Today’s commute was lovely. As I left the house, I realized I had forgotten about my face — all I had was a scarf. I didn’t turn back and it turns out, that’s all I needed. But that makes me think it wasn’t really 15 degrees (at 8:30am)
Or you don’t need to HTFU anymore.

I just did a roadie out in the Beltsville Farms. Roads are find and shoulders are clear.
Out of the context of this forum, this sounds kinky.

ParticipantThe Capital Crescent Trail is plowed from the DC line to Georgetown, but that just means a thin layer of snow on top of thin ice. From River Rd to the Dalecarlia tunnel there is a 1.5 foot trail of packed snow. From Bethesda to River Rd the trail is mostly packed snow. The bridges still have a fair amount of snow so be extra careful crossing. The Georgetown Branch is bumpy on top of bumpy on top of bumpy.
