Wouldn’t be caught dead in green shoes or a blue jersey… Though I will concede that dude’s socks appear to compliment his jersey and his shoes (yellow accent).
Sighting-rich ride home. Dismal at Gravelly Point. Not sure who shouted my name moments (red kit and bike?) later by the edge of the airport (I was focused on the Cabi rider in front of you—the guy with the red-going-to-grey beard whom I usually see commuting on a Cabi standing in the pedals). Shawnofthedread just before the Custis intersection with the W&OD—red ‘stache and all.
But no Consularrider. Bummer.
That was me. I usually ride with the standing CaBi guy in the afternoon. I also saw Dismal at Gravelly Point.

I’m cruising Takoma to north Arlington (Marymount University in particular) by way of Georgetown Branch and Capital Crescent Trail.
Happy to ride with anyone! Just know I go slow (average 13/14 mph, unless I get my curvy-bar bike before then…at which point
i’ll magically ride 5 mph’s faster and can be ELITE)!I registered for the Discovery Plaza pit stop this year. I think I’ll get there early around 7am. I’d be happy to ride with you up 41st St. I just have to make it to the Crystal City pit stop before 9am (wind jacket for free, maybe).

This morning’s commute was over before it started. I was switching the bike I was going to ride and coming down a step, I caught my foot and twisted my ankle. At the ER thry told me the x-ray shows an avulsion fracture, and that I’ll be off the bike for six to eight weeks.
Was Rod nearby? Heal quickly!

ParticipantWe’ll also be at the ABCs of Family Biking. I think we’ll be at the Capitol to see the riders come in.

ParticipantAre their any welders on the Forum? Just need to introduce them to Dickie and we’ll have a local bakfiet up and running! Maybe bring one of the bike co-ops in on it?

ParticipantSeems like box bike maintenance would be like any other bike, right? Would you take it to The Daily Rider or BicycleSpace for bigger jobs or your favorite LBS?

Thanks for sharing, everyone!
I’m actually glad to hear that Bullitt works better for taller riders. Being 6’6”, the stock Bullitt seemed just about right if I got a seat post with a longer minimum insertion. And I’m not as interested in the e-assist, so the lighter weight and performance orientation sounds good to me too.
Perfect timing, just read the Phoenix Bikes newsletter about their bike show

ParticipantLast year heat 3 was balance bike, training wheels and trikes. Lots of parents running along side, me included.
