I think I saw this today, but the 4 top stones were gone. It is on the 4MR trail under Quincy.
This one WAS on the custis, but it’s been knocked down. Bummer.

There are a lot of these, but I’m pretty sure this is at the bottom of the S Curve of Certain Demise — I was walking *gasp* by there on Saturday, so got a good look.
Right trail, wrong place. So there are at least three of these!

^^Four Mile Run near Shirlington. We have our own little version of Buddha Beach.
Huh. No, there must be more than one. This is not 4MR.

I don’t think I ever posted a followup on this one. It’s Bull Run Post Office Road — long name for a little road, and I never did find the post office — which is gravel for a mile or so where it meets Braddock Road.
The spot I consider the most woo-hoo-hoo in Fairfax is on Braddock itself just east of BRPOR, between Tre Towers and Chandley Farm. Every time I go eastbound around that weird curve I’m amazed to find out I’m still alive. (It’s an uncambered turn on a downhill slope with no sightline and no bailout. Go too fast and you’ll end up in oncoming traffic or on the pavement, go too slow and you’ll get run over. Good times. I’d love to know the politics that prevents the commonwealth from simply straightening the road, or even how it got that way in the first place.)
Ah yes, I know that area well. “Dead mans curve” or “rock hill” is what you are referring to. I’ve seen several accidents there, tractor trailers and buses getting stuck. Fun times. There’s a decent trail around pleasant valley golf course for mountain biking that is nearby. Half paved though.

I just want them to fix the bridge with a solution that isn’t going to pop out and form a projectile.
That’s what the cone is for!

Not BikeArlington reflective ankle straps.
I lost both of mine. The other item I lost and will never replace is a rainproof helmet cover. Turn head once it it flew off in traffic.

Too bad you can’t do that when someone is ranting at you in “real life”

About 9:30 or so on Friday? I rolled by and saw the empty shoes and was told to go around on Shreve. I caught a glimpse of the guy handcuffed, sitting on the ground.
Yep. I stuck around for a few minutes and then just went around on Shreve. It was a sting because there were cops jumping out of the bushes for this guy.

Ah. That explains the empty shoes in the middle of the trail, just ahead of the three cruisers that were parked there. I didn’t get pictures either–it seems gauche to stand by snapping pictures of police activity; besides, I rolled through after the naked man event (thankfully).
Agree about not taking pictures, just didn’t seem right. And watching and hearing someone get tazed is well, just shocking.

Well, I thought they were coming after me so I didn’t take any pictures.

ParticipantI’ve seen a lot of weird things happen during my commute, but watching a man undress in front of the police and then get tazered several times tops them all. W&OD between Va lane and Shreve rd.
