Hi, team! Nice to “meet” you. This is my 4th freezing saddles. The first year my kid begged me to sign up so she could compete in the #withkid pointless prize. And I stuck around because the games deepened my appreciation for finding different neighborhoods and sights and businesses and art and monuments and parks and all the whimsy that could be found in the area on two wheels. It also got me to try fat tire biking on trips to snowier places.
I’m mostly a functional rider, using the bike to get where I need to go, now with the added challenge/benefit of working from home most of the time. My goal is to average around ten miles a day.
The one year I was part of a winning team, we didn’t have any top 10 or 15 riders, but we did get out there every day, so remember that every mile– especially the first one–counts a lot! Then once you’re out there, might as well keep going, at least that’s what I tell myself.
