Don’t see a cake along the trail often (ever?)

Did you cut into the tree to make sure it wasn’t a cake as well? Seems to be a thing on the interwebs. Henry

Oh but did it piss people off. And I am sure telling the story, someone will step up and say how awful it was.

Reminds me of the Great Sand Bag kerfuffle the Gainesville, FL team pulled in the National Bike Challenge a few years back. But then, Florida men gonna Florida.

Seems to still be the case that one needs to log in in order to simply see racks. Am I wrong?
No. Just click the X in the top right of the pop-up box. It should disappear and you can see the racks w/o an account or logging in.

For the record, I’m happy to again handle registration this year. However, people are going to have to think about what they want Freezing Saddles to look like this year. Happy hours, for example, are extremely unlikely to happen.
Are we getting the Cabal back together?
I was going to wait until Nov. 1 to re-order the Forum topics and put this back up.

KeymasterWhat’s the approximate route? Going from Pierce Mill to Fletchers via RCP-C&O is only about 7 miles. Sounds fun regardless.

KeymasterNo pics yet, but watch for mud and debris on creek-side trails, esp. Four Mile Run. This is just down stream of Mt. Vernon Blvd bridge.

KeymasterDrP, I forwarded your comments to DES staff, who said they are working with VDOT improving the detour signage. Thanks for providing this information.

KeymasterAnd Ford would have supported the bike lanes on Seminary Road, no doubt.

KeymasterMy real motivation is I don’t want to get lost (Cue sheet: Go one block, turn Right. repeat 1,000 times).
Plus I’m a little CS the Rudge might break and want to be close to home. Maybe next year I’ll take it to Purcellville and back.
Seriously, I got the idea from local Ultra Runner Michael Wardian with this early pandemic stunt. And I’m going less than half what he did, plus I get to coast some. Piece of cake.
