KeymasterChris:
Is there a proposal on the table, or is this just the start of the discussion? Also, did Alcova Heights take a formal position as a civic association?

Isn’t that from The Big Lebowski?

KeymasterOh, and love the name, too. I was going to protest strongly against the Dirty Dozen if it came up.

KeymasterHenry here. Arlington Active Transportation Director and part-time keeper of the forum. This is my fourth FS. 90% of my miles come from my 4.3 mile commute from South Arlington to Rosslyn. Happy to meet up on weekends, and will definitely bike for coffee, beer or pie. Had a work function last night and was bummed to miss the HH.

KeymasterThe companies are focused on capturing market share and do not want to alienate customers, so they are loathe to penalize them for bad behavior.

Next item on the list is Seven Dirty Words….. which should be quite easy for a few members of FS

So what I’m asking is what defines a “sleeze ride”? Is it just a ride to no where for the sake of points, or if you are actually using a bike to get to the store or a bar or whatever that happens to be 1.1 mi away are you free from “sleeze ride” shame?
All rides between 1 mile and 1.99 miles are Sleaze Rides, regardless of intent. Wear the badge with pride. There is no shame.

KeymasterWe love Newbies! So much so that BikeArlington is seeking a first-time winter rider for a guest blog post in Jan/Feb. Could be someone under the influence of Freezing Saddles, but doesn’t have to be. Could also be an interview if no one has the scribe vibe.
Interested parties can message me off-thread or email me: henry [dot] dunbar [at] bikearlington [dot] com

There is a whole topic under this in which they can post questions. There is even a thread that shows who is responsible for what aspects of the competition (and I’ve asked Henry to link to it), so they can go directly to the source. Given that Henry does not have responsibility for any specific functions outside of this sticky (website, team assignments, registration, prizes, or happy hours), asking him (by replying to this sticky) isn’t going to work, anyway.
I will say the Sticky I just replaced took three years to get 8 replies of people ignoring very clear instructions. Mine got there in less than 12 hours!

I hope the same. If they really needed them so badly that they felt like they needed to steal them, then I wish them well. If it was just malice then *insert angry face*.
Hoping to put in replacements before I head out of town for Thanksgiving.
Yeah, saw this on Saturday, but thought you knew. Was going to mention it, but why ruin Friendsgiving?
