“Moped”? Fun to ride but don’t want to be seen on it…..
Kidding aside, Interesting build.
Ha! I was going for funky / weird. With that in mind I present the Cargodale:

Well, I don’t know that it will ever be “cool,” exactly. It is, after all, a five-year-old Trek 7300 underneath all that. But it’s perfectly adapted to what I want to do with it–commute 25 miles a day, and keep doing that through Freezing Saddles.
Sounds cool to me 😎

Where can I read more about that fork?
The fork is made by Crust Bikes and they call it the Clydesdale. 1 & 1/8 steerer, disc-only, and it’s built for a 20″ wheel with (I believe) a 9mm QR axle.

What’s the second stem for?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was simply a parts-bin number for testing the fit. The final stem will be a velo orange cigne.

ParticipantWaiting on a few parts and I haven’t decided what to call this one yet.

I like my Chrome shoes for walkability. Not particularly wide or anything, and I assume the Chrome store carries them. They have laces though, and are also pretty heavy, if that matters. I use one pair specifically for winter riding (1/2 size larger to accommodate thick socks, and they’re my warmest shoes – I don’t own any cycling specific winter boots).
I’ve always wanted to try DZR Shoes but don’t own a pair. Bilsko did I think, he might have some feedback on them.
I also have a couple of pairs of Shimano touring-style shoes. Also very walkable but they definitely look less stylish than Chrome shoes.
I’ll second this as I also have a pair of Chrome truk pro shoes and have used them during the winter. Great shoes although my spd cleats definitely crunched on some concrete.

ParticipantI have day dreams about bikes or being out riding but can’t say that I have regular /night time dreams about them. Oddly enough the only transportation that shows up in my dreams is an old project car that I let go of at least 10 years ago.

Here are my Spec Roubaix Pro 2BR tires with some miles on it. It has developed these small round holes in various places. They do not seep sealant at all.
I also have one cut (photo did not come out) that was leaking sealant. I put more Stan’s in and it now is sealed up fine. Held the whole 52 mile Rough Roubaix without and more seepage.
And regarding pressure, I pumped it and the Bonti 28 on the front to 62. That was way too hard, I dropped both mid-RR to an unknown level and was much happier.

I know some continental tires have small holes that serve as wear indicators. Looks like that could be the case here?

Why are those two things related?
I’d say they relate in terms of budget and excitement.

ParticipantGetting married (!!!) in October and I needed to go down to one bike with some versatility. Thanks to Bikenetic for the hook up! Salsa cowbell 2’s and 35mm Clement X’plor USH tires so far. I was only able to take it for a quick spin last night but I can already tell that this steed will be FUN!

Wanted to be at work early, which necessitated skipping Kindred Coffee today. Instead I was sipping at every stop light. Missed the company, but enjoyed the ride!
Yowza! I’m drooling over your bike / frame!

ParticipantOne of my bikes has a similar gxp / hollow spindle setup. It might be worth removing the cranks to check that the spindle itself wasn’t the source of said noise. Better safe than sorry.
