As I mentioned at the outset, I’m at a disadvantage out here in suburbia where most of the “real” flags are either the US, Virginia or county flags. I’ve been lucky so far for sure; hopefully that luck will hold over the next month! 😬😀

2/20 – Chief of Naval Operations, US NavyChief of Naval Operations  While the Navy was the first service to use flags to distinguish its senior officers, it was among the last to adopt distinctive designs for its chief and vice chief.  The personal flag of the Chief of Naval Operations, modeled after those of the Army and Air Force chiefs of staff and the Chairman of the JCS, was approved in October 1964 and made its first appearance in the 1965 edition of Flags, Pennants and Customs, some 50 years after the position of Chief of Naval Operations was established in 1915.  The flag is divided diagonally from lower hoist to upper fly, blue over white, with the central device of the CNO’s office on a white disk at the center surrounded by a golden chain.  The device is an eagle with a U.S. shield on its breast and holding an anchor horizontally in its talons.  Four stars in a diamond pattern surround the disk, blue on the white field and white on the blue. The staff ornament for the CNO’s flag is a spread eagle 🦅.

I did get a pic of a flag mounted to a house today too, but this is so much better.

It’s not attached to a building or coming out of the ground, but I feel like this should count cuz it’s about the Heidelberg bakery next to it – and it’s forward of the bldg like flags in the ground  but it’s so much cooler! Especially when you’re a cycling community!  But you tell me, Kris – you’re the boss of this contest. 😁🤷🏻

@Indiana – I love your dedication to update us that it’s the Serbian flag!

@CBGanimal – Glad you are enjoying the game!  Sorry about the new (terrible) forum….a giant step backward IMO.  I was really hoping the power that be would just revert to the prior service….we lost so many features in this new version 🙁 My failure to anticipate this many people would find new flags everyday.  A lot of fun to see and read everyone’s finds & stories.

@matteblack – don’t forget the many variations of Don’t Tread of Me that must be nearby as well 🙂  Your commitment is honorable (and I’m sure getting more challenging by the day).

@Nadine – count it 🙂  Even bonus points for bringing me good memories of shopping at Heidelberg Bakery, riding by there (lived a few blocks away), and visiting the real Heidelberg to ride many times when I lived nearby it in Germany.
