Back by popular demand for its second season w/ enhanced guidelines [emoji849]):

    1. Discover any art form (loosely defined) that is freely accessible to the public while completing at least a 10 mile bike ride. Monuments and Memorials are EXCLUDED as they are a different PP by @HokieBeth. Only one art form discovery allowed per 10+mile ride. If you want to discover more art, then start a new ride. Rides less than 10 miles are not eligible.

    2. Post here on this thread a picture [use Small resolution] of your art form with some portion of your bicycle in it. Include the location of the art form following examples from the Little Free Libraries (also excluded) so that others may find it, too. Public Art rides/pics should be posted daily, so as to allow all a fair chance to play. Sandbagging posts NOT allowed and will automatically disqualify you from this pointless prize.

    3. Hashtag your ride #publicartfinder (not CaSe SeNsItIvE) in your Strava ride titles if you want to appear on the FS2022 #publicartfinder leaderboard https://freezingsaddles.org/pointless/hashtag/publicartfinder which I will sweep (at least monthly) for data for the official #publicartfinder scoreboard found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ob3HlhU34D4xrtbttsDIAu2knT8MOIZQ2EcAr6s5YF0/edit#gid=58255797

    4. Follow me (Boomer Cycles) on Strava so that I can verify your #publicartfinder rides

Entries will be judged by some faceless cabal on totally subjective criteria that may include use of creative objects (like your bike interacting w/ an art form), composition, light, artistic flair, witty captions, great stories, # of quality submissions, and/or # likes, kudos or dislikes, and bonus points. In the event of a tie, efficacy rules: most art discoveries/least amount of miles wins.

If you played last year, go find some New2U art! Don’t game the competition by resubmitting your discoveries from last year. Honor system in effect, but there may be extra points for self-policing or calling out any offending FS veterans!

Now go Ride and Seek your art form;-!

You gotta love a priest on a bicycle mural. Father Rahm was a shining light in what was a very dark place in El Paso. He is remembered very fondly! You can find out more about him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Rahm

This mural is at the entrance to the Bethesda Row parking garage on Hagar Lane in Bethesda. It already had two forms of transportation on it, so I stuck my bike at the back to represent a third.

“Fidelity of Form” by sculptor Dennis Heimbach. This piece is located in Reston Town Square park, across from Barcelona Wine Bar and bartaco. It was hard to choose a single photo of this piece, it’s so interesting and varied depending on where you’re viewing it. More photos in my Strava.

Due to the 25mph wind gusts I stayed close to home today which meant not a very target rich environment!

An architectural one today. The feature on the top of this building at 7750 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, is called “The Knot.” The building used to be M&N’s Pizza. However, the pizza place has moved to a much more nondescript building, and this one is vacant.
