Painted in the dark days after the Wal-Mart shooting when people were struggling to understand why this peace-loving, fiercely patriotic, American city was targeted. Gabe Vasquez and Justin Martinez started this the night after the shooting. It has become a favored photo spot and has sparked others to put this sentiment in their artwork.

A serendipitous wrong turn took me to this mural painted on the side of an unrelated business (i.e., not a church). In the bottom right hand corner is WWJP. My guess is that it stands for “What Would Jesus Paint?”

3/15 – The SWBID funded a number of “Traffic Box Art Wraps” to bring a little bit of life to otherwise bland traffic boxes. This one can be found at 4th and G SW (across the street from my favorite bike rack – one shaped like a tooth outside of a dentist’s office).

3-15-22 every morning and night all over the world, the sky is public art. I didn’t get my bike in the photo, so it doesn’t count, but I marvel at the beauty in nature quite often.

The artistic bike rack is also public art – if you get a chance to get a photo and post, I’d love to see it! The way bike parking has evolved fascinates me. Sometimes if it is “too pretty” or “clever” cyclists don’t use it!
