ParticipantIs it public art if it is seasonal? Some women who work in The building said, “Oh, they put it out every year.”

ParticipantMy real submission for the day. Reston has many, many pieces of public art. This one is my favorite. It’s called Convergence and it’s by the same sculptor who did the work featuring Bob Simon (Founder of Reston), Untold Stories. The sculptor’s name is Zachary Oxman.

There should be indeed. I’ll have to work on finding one.

Very artsy hood … and the Japanese Shrine would definitely count, too, for this competition,if it only included a bike [emoji605] in the pic somehow, hint, hint [emoji848] [emoji6]

Challenge accepted! Just for clarification—are you implying my bike handlebars and saddle are NOT in the posted photo?

Bike handlebars & saddle definitely qualify, but were missing from your lead photo of “Our Lady of the Trail” … which is a great shot BTW[emoji6]

ParticipantThis mural is painted on the side of 2630 South St, Philadelphia 19146. The bike in it caught my eye (but the real bike in frame is not actually my bike either). It greets you as you come into the Grad Hospital neighborhood after you’ve crossed the South St. Bridge over the Schuylkill.

ParticipantIf my bike helmet and I count as bike in the photo, here’s my submission for the day. If not, it was still fun.

This butterfly is painted on the wall of the Herndon Art Space. It begs for one to pose in the middle of the wings – hence my selfie.
Seeing as I can’t get the photo to flip, how about “Suspended Animation” for a title.January 14, 2021 at 7:38 pm #1109225bikedavid
ParticipantThe Great Wave off Kanagawa in Georgetown, based on a famous Japanese woodblock print. I have never been to this mural before so it was nice to see in person. The wave is certainly big!

Whoa! That’s awesome — incentive to go to Georgetown! Can you be a little more specific as to location?
