Post your #PublicArtFinder pic here! But please do so responsibly by using the “small” option on your Tapatalk menu!!

Rules (which are more like general guidelines [emoji849]):

    1. Ride your bike a least a mile to any art form (loosely defined) that is freely accessible to the public

    2. Take a picture of said art with a bicycle somewhere in the frame, and upload to this thread, Strava and/or the FS Facebook page (but please include the link here so that it can be found).

    3. Hashtag your ride #publicartfinder (not CaSe SeNsItIvE) on Strava if you want to appear on the FS2021 PP leaderboard https://freezingsaddles.org/pointless/hashtag/publicartfinder

    4. Public Art rides/pics must be posted within 72 hours, so as to allow all a fair chance to play, and avoid sandbagging at the end of FS2020 to game the PP competition.

Entries will be judged by some faceless cabal on totally subjective criteria that may include use of creative objects (like a bike), composition, light, artistic flair, witty captions, great stories, # of quality submissions, and/or # likes, kudos or dislikes. Extra points if you disclose the exact location of the art form so that others may enjoy it.

Now go find your Public Art form!

Took this at George Mason University, outside of the art building. The pole is actually waving if you look close.

Is it an actual art installation? It definitely masquerades as … urban something or other!

ok Boomer, I need a ruling. In my photo of the Bakeshop mural, my brake lever is “clearly” visible in the reflection under the letter “e.”

    Does this qualify?

Oooh Consularrider!!! At first I struggled with which “E” does he mean, and then I struggled with my eyesight, so I guess that I need to update my eye prescription. But indeed, if I squint, I see the brake lever, so granted!!! But I may need to amend the rules moving forward to read “discernible” rather than “visible”!!!

Well, I was cheating and blowing up the original photo because I hadn’t realized I captured any of the bike in the photo. ;)

Art is often left to the eye of the beholder, so please tell us, don’t ask us, what do you see (besides steel rake hands that mimic the airy awnings on top of the windows on the building above?!;-)

Former WB President Jim Wolfensohn was a great patron of the arts and also put some great tapestries in the MC building atrium (if they are still there)

The entire WB campus is filled with artwork from all over the world and valued at millions of dollars. It even has a full-time arts program with a staff of 3 I think. One of the joys of working there is walking through the hallways, which contain literally thousands of works.

North of VA 233 (the road to the airport) and adjacent (east) of the VA 233 exit ramp to Crystal Drive. South of the volleyball courts.

Curiosity about it is not permitted? I’m trying to figure if it’s “placed” or “natural”.

Everyday I See Something New. A fun mural by the Marie Reed community center in Adams Morgan. I like how it incorporates various things in the neighborhood including Julia’s empanadas.

Pennies from Heaven” public art sculpture, with 14,000 pennies, in Falls Church, VA. The Washington Post wrote an article
    about this in 2018.
