The art installation is in the middle of the median strip. So, since it is an art display of bikes, it definitely has a bike in somewhere in the frame!

Participanthis lighted display of a biker doing a wheelie is public art during the day when people are free to roam Bull Run Park, but at night when the park is closed one must pay to see the thing lit up. I guess it is private art then.

ParticipantHere’s some public-facing art. Very few are getting to see it right now, though:

I recently heard about the murals at One Loudon. They’re only a few miles off the WOD, so of course I had to go check them out.
This one is for Sarah Bee:
The artist calls these “beecycles,” and he’s been incorporating this idea in his art since college.
This was my favorite mural of the five:
It’s too bad I didn’t know about these murals in time for drevil’s photo of the day “bird” theme — or his “plane” theme!
Great find! Very cool. And a tribute to [mention]SarahBee [/mention] too! I didn’t know about these, and would like to go visit, especially since it’s conveniently near the W&OD.

Found this under the freeway in SW DC.Oooh … this feels like it might have #FSwormhole #publicartfinder potential. Can you drop a location pin [emoji625] so that we can find it? And claim it by adding a bike [emoji605] to the pic!

Peter Krsko Murals at Takoma/Langley Crossroads
There are three murals by DC-based muralist Peter Krsko (2 of which I had the honor of helping paint!) along alleys in a 1-block radius just southeast of where New Hampshire Ave and University Blvd intersect in Takoma Park, MD. Not a particularly bike (or pedestrian)-friendly area, but worth a gander if you get a chance.
1. Symbiosis (2017)
2. NATRVA (2017)
3. Migration (2015)
Yes! An edited map with precise locations and notations!! +3 points being a generous #publicartcartographer too
Belated realization: you helped paint 2 of those murals? WOAH! A bazillion extra points for creating public works of art!!!!

And a cat doing a #dangerpanda pose on the bike in the art. It qualifies!!!

Before I was asked to take my bike outside (oops), I managed to snap a photo of this New Deal era “mural” of apple picking. From the descriptions, I had this image in my mind of full wall paintings. Alas, I was disappointed. But art is art.
I hope that no citations were issued as a result of the #publicartfinder quest!:-0

So I just want to say my mom and sister are artists, I have HS classmates who are artists, some of my best friends are artists named Laura BUT this is just so wrong on so many levels that the bike improves the sculpture. I prefer abstract landscapes.
Who knew that so many wrongs could lead to such righteous #publicartfindings ?[emoji848]
