Now that the Space Horse has tasted gravel and mud, it wants more. Where can I take it to get muddy? :D

    1. If I can ride it this evening, I’ll take a few more shots, otherwise I’m gonna go all paparazzi on it on the MVT tomorrow morning.
    2. Agreed, I love the look of the Disc Trucker with Jackson Pollack splotches of Towpath red. But the new bike is *so* clean…the rims are *so* black, that I’m having a hard time with this one guys.

This. Only half the reason for my Bilsko “hate” is my extreme envy. The other half is he keeps (here and on Strava) teasing us with these few detail shots, such as that awesome looking mini v-brake. We want bike pics and we want them now!

I don’t really get why they’re doing the Straggler given the success of the other QBP framesets and completes that have a similar geometry to the CC but with much better components. Unless the plan is for Salsa to kill off the Fargo, but that seems unlikely given that it has a drop top tube instead of the straight top like the CC.

That said, I do really like the color on these and the compact drop bars.

Why do you all tell me there is a bike named after my distant ancestor because now I covet THIS

and my brother is local so he can pick it up and save the shipping (assuming he’s not at S-1 himself already).

Bonus: Then I could ride in Dirt’s Gravel Rides. Oh wait, no I can’t, because I could never keep up without gears. Oh well, it was only a covet anyway.

Isn’t it wrong to name a bike Rob Roy and then paint it Orange?

It is never wrong to paint a bike orange.

I have to agree that orange bikes rock. There was one large order of these things in 2007 and then I don’t think they’ve been offered since. They came in green, black, and orange for the group buy, but an old acquaintance had a dusty blue one… or it may have been royal blue with added dust, I was never sure.

Prior experience, back when I was in shape, was that I could keep up just fine on a fixed gear.
