Holy smokes! That looks like a very tall frame. Tim Kelley might even fit that.
July 13, 2012 at 6:23 pm #945741BilskoParticipantUnfortunately they closed up shop and are no longer building any frames…and the webpages is not coming up on the Wayback machine, so I don’t have any details. Great looking bike, for whoever out there is riding it
July 13, 2012 at 6:27 pm #945742DaveKParticipantI would already own this if I had somewhere to put it. Decked out with Velo Orange racks & fenders & assorted whatnot.

Also, a dedicated commuter with a front dynohub, belt drive, disc brakes, pretty fenders and Alfine 11 would be nice. I probably wouldn’t want to lock it up anywhere either though.

I want the exact same thing in a commuter, but can we find it for under $1k?
This would be nice at more stations.July 13, 2012 at 7:10 pm #945752vvillParticipant@jopamora 25196 wrote:

I watched a video demo of that a few months ago. Seems like a nice amenity but it’s not really necessary for me – I’m fine riding and locking a beater bike at Metro for the rare times I ride it.

Even with ebay, it gets really hard to stay sub $2k when putting something together.

3-speed, chain guard, fenders, dynahub, step through, upright riding style (“dutch bike”), steel
It was sold at Tchibo, a German coffee shop that carries a rotating stock of themed non-coffee goods. I believe the original price was around E300. I miss living in Europe…

The BMC’s look really slick. They list CycleLife as a Dealer – anyone know if they have any Alfine’s in stock for testing?
These guys also seem to have a stable of belt-drive internally geared hub rides: http://www.joe-bike.com/ – I’m thinking the Norco and Civia brands. Any word on build quality?
Separately, on my list of Coveted bikes ( I know, I know, everyone else on Bikeforums has linked to this bike at some point in the past 5 years…)
I’d be happy giving my money to Mr. Yamaguchi for just about any of his frames.

The bicyclists who weaves all over the road in front of motorists is asking for trouble. He confuses the motorists. And he acts as though he might be confused himself.
Scraper bike!
