What part of “when I walk the bike trails, I’m careful to the point of paranoia about hugging the right side of the path so bicycles and joggers can pass…. I was walking in a park within sight of the Washington Monument, using a footpath that didn’t seem likely to have many bicycles on it” seems to have overmatched your reading skills?
If you are hugging the right side of the trail why would someone try to pass on your right? There’s no room. This makes zero sense.

ParticipantSorry you got hit buddy, but it doesn’t give you the right to be an a-hole (googling your name and looking for fights on message boards = being an a-hole).

Watching people who don’t participate in Freezing Saddles complain about the rules of Freezing Saddles is one of the most DC things on this forum.
As is watching a small group of people re-write rules

Participantok fine everyone starts each week with 50 miles as a way to mitigate the effect of people who sign up and never ride

ParticipantI get what you are trying to accomplish but 100 miles is really low. I could see capping it at 200 maybe but 100 discourages fun team long rides because now you’ve created a situation where team miles aren’t going to count in a lot of cases.

ParticipantJust to piggyback on Judd (RAAAAAAWR) I had to go through this effing abomination this morning and was nearly peace-outed at least twice. Drivers are already pissed (what else is new) about this bottleneck and not only do they not give af, they just don’t expect you.
Someone is going to die during this closure and it’s not going to be a motorist.

ParticipantI’m just glad your injuries weren’t catastrophic. I can’t believe that a-hole driver got off with just a 3 foot citation. They could have easily killed you.

ParticipantI’m worried that the dude driving the opposite direction from me on Georgetown Pike this morning at 6:20am was not able to properly hear my witty rejoinder to his “get off the road” admonition. So just in case you stumble upon this board searching for answers, what I replied was…”fuck you”.
Boom. Roasted. Here is some Neosporin for that burn, etc..

ParticipantAs my kids like to remind me, I am extremely old. HOWEVER. I was still able to do it. Which is to say if my fragile, oldman body can drive to this race, camp at this race, and race this race, anyone can. It is a fricking blast. It’s so beautiful that you can’t stop looking around with touristy-wide eyes. Plus free beer. Great coffee. BAND. And the nicest peeps.
