This is true. I confirmed with hozn last week and included that information in the information sticky post as part of the registration instructions.

Sorry.
But thanks for the opportunity for me hijack your question to let people know I am updating the post again this year and trying to make sure the most important information is in the post, and links to other current discussions are included. HEY PEOPLE! I’m updating the sticky post again and trying to keep it current! Right now it’s mostly registration instructions and general game info, but will have things like happy hour dates, team announcements, etc when they are scheduled. If you want to know current status about something freezing saddles related but don’t have the time or patience to wade through the entire subforum looking for it, try there first. It might be there.Where?

ParticipantThat definitely is the sign of getting older .. picking up specialist physicians.
it’s surprising how quickly the talk amongst friends my age goes to “ailments”.
and we’re not even that OLD!streetsmarts
Participantthanks @Judd. I don’t even like to *walk* when it’s below 20. But I would, you know, for bragging rights & stupid prizes. Not far, but a few miles!!

You’ll have to tell us how it went. It was 26 degrees when I left at 6 a.m., which is the coldest of the season so far, so you picked a good one.
Thanks guys. It was cold, but not bad once I got moving. After biking to coffee club, and then to work, my toes were a little cold. I do have foot warmers in my bag. And parts of my backside took a while to get warm. I’ll be back.
Freezing Saddles – I dunno. How much colder than this? BRRRRRstreetsmarts

Yay! “Coffee” is a verb now. Somebody add it to the forum dictionary.
Coffee: v. to meet up with other cyclists at a prearranged location to consume beverages brewed from the roasted seeds of plants of the genus coffea and/or other (usually) hot beverages and/or snack foods. There’s a forum dictionary?!! I love this forum!
On another note, I’m wimpy (rule 5 is not kicking in yet) – and have been afraid to ride in these freezing temps. I’m planning on riding tomorrow – so I can *coffee* with my buddies. Pray for a warmer morning.

ParticipantReviving a very old thread. @Dirt @Arlingtonrider – do you all still use Moose Mitts? They sound somewhat better than Bar Mitts but are approx. $30 more expensive. Thoughts?

ParticipantFabulous. Rockabilly?!! Accordions ?! Even better. Yay! Arlington is much closer than Ashburn, but I’ll try to come to one if not both. And if it’s warmer than today, I’ll bike!!
Thanks for letting us know!(No ELFs were driven on the W&OD… I’ve been following that thread. Funny)

ParticipantCongrats. Hope it’s fun . But cider ride should be fun. In fact if you start with us at WF, ride to cider ride , do the 50ish and ride home you might have them all in. Either way, enjoy.
