From last Friday- my most recent journey to Black Lives Matter Plaza, NW. I expect the state of affairs at Lafayette Park will not change until the current occupant of the White House has actually moved out.

Of note- above-deck of Memorial Bridge had just reopened, all lanes open, the south sidewalk should also be open as I type this.

The images are telling. Thank you for posting. 2023 it *must* be then.

A week ago, I rode (or tried to ride) the Holmes Run Trail in Alexandria. There are still bridges out, and the “tube” under I-395 is still closed, all of which force multiple detours onto the other side of Van Dorn St. And into the traffic I was trying to avoid. What are Alexandria’s plans to repair this by-now old flood damage?

From Friday of last week- The W&OD bridge over Leesburg Pike is *almost* open. I did have to deal with an annoying detour while they finish up.

This picture? This…route? Gee, what would #dirt do? (P.S. You are loved…)

In related news, the Memorial Circle improvements are slated to begin Monday.

When I rode through there last Tuesday, traffic cones were down, presumably for this work.

    Who’s been there since?

Arlington Loop, trying to pedal away from the daily Fear & Loathing. Of note; the Custis/Bon Air traffic circle, now with road markings; a visit to T.R. (off the bike), and the Memorial Bridge renovation is closing in on completion.

Signs, signals, and markings- the Custis/Bon Air traffic circle, with road markings. What I didn’t shoot were the nicely scaled traffic circle signs.

I voted today at that location. If you lock your bike up on the racks that are visible to the people standing outside, handing out sample ballots–in the plaza near the Starbucks–I think you will be fine. There are signs saying those racks are closed, but the voting volunteer said it was not a problem for short-term use.

Was not a problem for me. In fact the volunteers pointed me to those racks. Yesterday at 3:25 PM…

Thank you for doing this! It was good to be back in the flow. My couple of pics from the ride:

And on the way home, I discovered a doggie food truck!

There is an Alexandria Public Art Ride going that Saturday morning. https://www.facebook.com/events/235704787858843/

I am hoping like hell none of the three ride groups will cross paths with them (I am with Judd’s 8:30 group).

Learned a little after the fact that Pete was a *big* advocate of https://www.roadid.com/?referrer=22748. Better late than never. I now have one (color matched to a humble Timex).

    Thank you, sir! #wsgfabr! <3

Rode through the Custis/Bon Air traffic circle yesterday.

First pic is approaching westbound from the detour. While I was here, a couple of serious cyclists passed through eastbound and navigated the circle as we should, without drama. Second shot is from where you would approach from the Custis underpass. This really isn’t going to be a big problem…
