I almost had to settle for Bon Ami because I went to Mom’s first! But later, when I decided it was too damn cold and windy and too damn far to Metro to Ashburn to fly back on the W&OD, and i was too damn tired, I decided to go to the Giant and let some other (damn) team win Freezing Saddles. Why is it all winter again besides the obvious? I even put my damn BarMits back on.

I honestly don’t think it’s fair to dock us when neither tapatalk or BAFS is allowing us to sign in or post a new pic. Not only was Bafs telling me “my submission has expired”, but Tapatalk keeps doing that thing where it won’t upload new photos even after turning my phone off twice.

I’ll try tapatalk again, because Bafs quality is horrible.

I like this definition of vixen, I think from Oxford, because it’s a lot more positive than other dictionaries I’ve read that really slant it in a derogatory way to refer to a woman.

Mrs. Roosevelt was FIERCE and SPIRITED and I’m sure Sexually attractive because of the first two.

    vix·en
    /ˈviksən/

    noun
    1. 1.
a female fox.

    2. 2.
INFORMAL
a spirited or fierce woman, especially one seen as sexually attractive.”an outrageous shaven-headed vixen”

    This article looks interesting.

    https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/eleanor-roosevelt-life-and-legacy

“A fierce advocate for the downtrodden during her husband’s presidency, Roosevelt spent her later years pushing for human rights—pioneering work that still resounds today.”

“On the evening of April 20, 1933, a plane took off from a Washington, D.C. runway. Its precious cargo included two women in evening dresses, fur coats, and elbow-length gloves they had worn to a formal White House dinner just hours before. Now, pioneering aviatrix Amelia Earhart and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt were flying into the night sky.

The impulsive flight had come about when the two friends discussed Earhart’s fascination with flying at night. So they gathered a group of reporters, Earhart’s husband George Putnam, and Roosevelt’s brother, Hall Roosevelt, to take an impromptu flight to Baltimore. During the flight, Roosevelt spent time in the cockpit with Earhart and the plane’s captain, reveling in the novel view of the night sky. She even considered becoming a pilot herself, but her husband objected.”

    3/11/23 Dasher

This free “reindeer” was the only one I could find tonight on both Sligo Creek Parkway and Rock Creek Park. Getting ready to dash forever. Perhaps they were snuggling because it was cold. I also took photos of an empty track.

No hyphens were harmed in the making of this post.

    Shine, Perishing Republic

While this America settles in the mould of its vulgarity, heavily thickening to empire,
And protest, only a bubble in the molten mass, pops and sighs out, and the mass hardens,

I sadly smiling remember that the flower fades to make fruit, the fruit rots to make earth.
Out of the mother; and through the spring exultances, ripeness and decadence; and home to the mother.

You making haste haste on decay: not blameworthy; life is good, be it stubbornly long or suddenly
A mortal splendor: meteors are not needed less than mountains: shine, perishing republic.

But for my children, I would have them keep their distance from the thickening center; corruption
Never has been compulsory, when the cities lie at the monster’s feet there are left the mountains.

And boys, be in nothing so moderate as in love of man, a clever servant, insufferable master.
There is the trap that catches noblest spirits, that caught—they say—God, when he walked on earth.[1]

“Shine, Perishing Republic” is a poem by the American writer Robinson Jeffers, first published in 1925 in the collection Roan Stallion, Tamar, and Other Poems. It describes an increasingly corrupt American empire, which it advises readers to view through the naturalizing perspective of social cycles. Jeffers wrote two companion poems in the 1930s: “Shine, Republic” and “Shine, Empire”.97f23eb2361d4fa15992eb937a85f842.jpg

Had to settle for a rainbow [emoji304] flag when Rainbow Trends, a clothing store, didn’t seem to exist. Bad Google Maps!

Rainbow Trends? Nope, but when I went in I ran into a guy working there from the DC Bike Party last night. I ran into the bike party at Hains Point. Took a long time to pass them!

Interesting! What Carol said was interesting about the name spelling change, I don’t know if I noticed that when I was trying to figure this out. I knew it was a place, but was having difficulty figuring out how to find something related. I thought of maybe finding a park that looked similar to the plants and colors I was seeing, but it’s kind of the wrong time of year. So when the Neopets info came up I was kind of fascinated even though I’m generally not into that type of thing. It reminds me of anime which has been a slow process for me to enjoy it too. Not something I grew up with.

Here are some more info in pictures. She? Looks like a rabbit? Or something. I’m having even more difficulty with dancing alligators. Someone in Florida now could probably find more mascots. There’s one or two high schools in Virginia, but info is scarce.

I’ll have to post twice, unfortunately, because tapatalk is making me power off my phone just to post one photo. Two is impossible. Well, impossible for me, because the more it demands money the more I don’t want to give it money. I think these were in the link of my first post.

Issues with Tappatalk again. If anyone else has trouble uploading photos, etc, it helps to just turn the phone off and open another app first when you reboot.

Slow on the uptake on this one – can you explain the Pango Pango / Pago Pago connection?

I was confused too, because I thought it was originally Pago Pago as in the place, but I checked and this was the last post you guys posted. I think Pango Pango came up easier on the internet too. So I figured I dreamed Pago Pago. aacdd857d7c84ae2a51cd54106aafc58.jpg
I have more info/photos of Pango Pango too. It’s his pot that’s at Chili Bowl and why it tastes so good. I made that part up (and someone else made up the rest!) lol!

Here’s a better photo of the Cooking Pot location. I guess it doesn’t matter which day since we have the whole week. Hopefully, going out of the app for awhile works. Attachments are so awful. e4bf3000fce05ec2ed4e8637fd493380.jpg

    Pango Pango

The second photo is Ben’s Chili Bowl on Ben’s Chili Bowl Way (U St. where I almost was right hooked by a high speed chase, squealing wheels and all – I was shaking for quite awhile after that). There’s no way the chili could be so famous unless it was actually being served from Pango Pango’s mysterious Cooking Pot that takes many ingredients and turns them into something fantastic.

“Pango Pango is one of the gods of Mystery Island, who blesses users with special items for giving him the proper gifts at the Cooking Pot. It is implied that Jhuidah’s magic is also required for the Cooking Pot to function correctly, as when she went missing in the Mystery Island Volcano plot, users were required to use a recipe that doesn’t usually work.”

Hole in the Sky Collective, 2110 5th St. NE is in this building, I think on the second floor. There are more photos on my Strava with a map and indoor shots. It’s an art collective.

Blech. Fortunately, this one generally has either empty shelves or stale donuts. Not tempting.
