Called “origami… made in steel” by the artist, images depict the historically Black neighborhood of Lincoln Park, Clarence “Pint” Isreal, a Negro League baseball player who has a park named after him and William Gibbs. In 1936, Gibbs volunteered to become the NAACP’s plaintiff against the Montgomery County, Maryland School Board for pay equity discrimination in a case that would be known as Gibbs v. Broome.
