There used to be a really nice sign for the American Center for Physics, but because of Purple Line Construction, they have this temporary sign.

The ACP brings the American Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society, and the American Association of Physics Teachers under one roof.

Universities abound in Madrid. Let’s hope they don’t have to rename this one since Juan Carlos is now exiled and criminal charges are coming…

1/17/21-Another science education center in Brooker Creek. More loamy Flatwoods territory than coastal from yesterday. Went here as a kid and hope it can open soon. #stem 6bf841b1c225888431b6637b9fdb127a.jpg

There are a couple of streets in Reston (and DC too) named after scientists and mathematicians. One of them is Michael Faraday Drive off the W&OD. He contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry and has a unit of measure named in his honor.

Missed you by a day! Was tempted to stop at Bike Lane since it’s so close but stopped at Lake Anne Brew House instead. Will have to go back!

I had my first science internship here at 19. I “analyzed” coral under an electron microscope.

#STEM – Came across this sign at the Lincoln Park Community Center in Rockville that explains a rain barrel. I’m not sure if there is one near the building. Does this qualify as science or engineering?

Here’s another street sign. This one is of Euclid in DC to acknowledge the Greek mathematician that according to Wikipedia is sometimes known as “founder of geometry.” We probably all had to learn geometry in high school or college!

The answer to your question is “yes”. LOL – When I think of finding photos of STEM I look around and think, ‘So what’s not STEM?” All of our built environment requires some level of STEM to exist. And our natural environment is the epitome of “Science”. So I think you’re safe to say that science and engineering peacefully co-exist and in a rain barrel, they happily co-mingle!

Well yes, but remember, there are two parts (with different prizes) in this STEM Pointless Prize. One for the greatest number of entries (1 per day only), but the “Post should describe why it is STEM-related.”
The second part is to post a photo with your bike. The judging of photos will be subjective, but “The judge is known to be partial to uniqueness, creativity, composition, and mathematics.”
